Happy 420 everyone !! This day 2018 i had sent my first order to Peakseedsbc. Long story short my father died 10 years ago this april. So one day decided to turn on his old computer my father loved sativa strains but would never grow good here in New Brunswick. Found peakseedsbc on his favorites and he was about to place an order. Talk to couple people that warned me not to send cash in mail for seeds. They said you will get ripped off. Crazy me lol decided to to take that chance and send cash in the mail. Funny thing is i even used my grandmas address to send lol. Boy beers were flying after got that order in the mail. I can't say enough about peakseedsbc wish him all the best he truly was a hidden gem of a breeder. GO LEAFS GO lol !!!

This is exactly why I have zero issue with him going legal.
He spent over 20 years of his life making sure legit genetics made it to us growers at an insanely fair price . One of the last true breeders IMHO , and I will always be grateful for his kindness and willingness to share his knowledge.

I absolutely HATE the legal industry here in Canada . That being said , I do truly wish MikeJ the best.

Amen to that. Back in the day, PSBC was the very first place that I ordered seeds from online. I was so scared...

Hey Gio, long time no see.

I recently grew a hazeberry(been sitting on the beans since shortly before he went dark) and it is indeed powerful. The pheno I have is both fruity and gassy. There's another one in flower, but I haven't spent much time with her.

Hey HG, sorry, I haven't been back here in a while. I hope you're doing well, too. I feel like I should be working on having some good mother plants with the seeds I have left. It would be great to keep the genetics alive.

I've tried some strains from different breeders in the last couple of years. Dr. Greenthumb's Turkish Cookies has been a knockout and everyone really loves it. From Humboldt Seed Company, Humboldt Dream was pretty amazing. I'm going for four 10-foot-tall plants in my backyard this year, but missing the PSBC stuff. I need to resurrect some of it, perhaps plant all seven BB seeds and keep my fingers crossed I get a good female.

Even if you don't get a good female from the 7 plants, do an open pollination and hunt through the new seeds for a stellar one. It's an IBL anyways.

I only had this one female & i think it was at around 7 weeks flower maybe just a tad before in these pics i was only able to get 3 of i think 8 to grow i had 2 males & 1 female, i ran them a few months ago & they were F1's that i bought back in 2013. I made F2's but not a lot & i plan on sourcing some from someone else hopefully then breeding in thier batch into mine to preserve.

I figure this would be the best way of preserving these genetics, they're sacred!

I have 7 seeds of each, and they're so inbred and stable that I feel that most females would be worth selfing, it wouldn't be tough to pick.

If you want to S1 anything.. from my understand you are asking how to straight up self pollinate them, correct?
If this is the case, you are going to want to use one of the multitude of methods for getting an otherwise female plant to also produce male parts, those being the pollen sacs. When the pollen from such a plant breeds with itself, the seeds created are considered S1's and only contain genetic material from that plant alone and don't have any male genetics to go along with it. This is the reason why 'selfed' plants only produce female offspring.
The method that I think is the most often used to get female plants to produce pollen is by spraying the plant with water containing silver ions. You can either make the silver ion water yourself, or purchase it from any number of places. Usually costs about $50 for 16oz or something like that. Making your own isn't very difficult either, you simply hook up a piece of scrap silver from a necklace or whatever to a voltage source and dangle it in a container of water. The other terminal of the voltage source is also dangled in the water, and I personally also use a piece of scrap silver for this electrode as well. This way it doesn't matter which terminal is positive and which is negative, because both have silver as the electrodes. I'd suggest referencing my explanation from other sources as they probably have better instructions than what I've given, but this is the basic principal.
In theory, you could do this with male plants instead of females, creating male plants which also produce female plant parts (pistils) which could therefore produce seeds. I haven't ever seen it done or heard of anyone trying it, as not many people want to produce seeds that only produce male plants. I suppose if I only had 1 or 2 seeds left of a strain I was trying to save the genetic lineage of, and after growing them out they all turned out to be male, I would likely attempt to produce some all male S1 seeds from them so that I could pollinate something else later on by growing out the male S1's at a time that I knew I would have some females growing which I want to pollinate with that male. It might make for a useful tool in stabilizing a genetic line, because you could reliably have that same genetic male around to pollinate future females with, generation after generation of breeding, also called inbreeding for stability. I'm not sure how long pollen stores for, but I'm assuming that seeds would store more reliably than pollen.

Thanks, I appreciate that. I'm teetering between keeping mothers or creating S1 seeds. Technically, I guess that I could to both.

You can sell seeds here now but not clones as long as you aren't a business

Mothers can get infested with pest or disease. Seeds are the only true way to preserve the genetics. I’ll forever be kicking myself for not breeding more seeds while I had some elite clone onlys in the garden. All the mothers got spider mites one summer and that was the end of those plants.

Yeah dude there's a whole classified section now as long as you are just small time here's the post sunni made outlining how it works. It's basically all on you with the risk in trading and selling!
