wasn't snapping.
Anyway, sure paper towel works for some, but really there is no need.
No need for chipping either, they'll germinate in less than 24 hours.

speaking of chipping, i sometimes get 1 or 2 seeds that are just slightly split open... will those germinate? I never bother planting them thinking they'll grow to be weak plants anyway

no chipping is not necessary, and nor did i state such a thing. but i have done side by side tests of similar seeds, and found it to be far more effect and faster. seeds out of the same bag, similar size and shape, 2 chipped had a taproot over a 1/4" long within 18 hrs, while another 2 seeds without the chip took closer to 48. i never said it was necessary, merely said it worked well.

what is it with everyone trying to correct everyone else, necessary does it come into it, honestly, you took a bunch a seeds and put them into sht dirt in a field, some would still probably grow. But doesn't mean nothing else should be tried. To me sounds like a good idea for someone impatient as me, but Itll have to wait, seeds I got I had to pay for, will prob practice on bag seeds. So in conclusion, can't we all just toke along?
