I've always used the old fashioned method. If it has a penis it's male, if it don't, it's female.
Bah, most men don't have any balls anyway. I see it all the times at the gym. Lots of guys on performance enhancing drugs doing shitty workouts.

And yet as I stated in rare cases yes. Despite that how many genders are there? 2, male and female. XX or XY
Depends on your definition of gender. Personally I'm not sold on "gender identity", the science backs it as being legit but at the same time it was considered mental illness in the recent past.
That said I try to treat everyone with dignity and respect until they don't deserve it, but I'm not using the 90 pronouns and bastardized spellings of words (they now spell "woman" "womxn" to be more inclusive).

There's no personal definition of gender. Only the ACTUAL definition of gender as stated my medical science and basic biology. Cut and dry. Anything else is ideological gymnastics to justify a subjective view on the subject.

None of this is to say it makes anyone less of a person or undeserving of respect and the same rights we're all afforded. That being said facts are facts.

You mean like in the Black's Medical Dictionary ? (best selling medical dictionary for over 100 years)

"Gender is determined by a combination of
genetic and environmental factors, in which the
influence of family upbringing is an important
factor. When physical sexual characteristics are
ambiguous, the child’s gender identity can usually be established if the child is reared as being
clearly male or female. Should, however, the
child be confused about its sexual identity, the
uncertainty may continue into adult life."

Science and medicine change as evidence and understanding evolve, I have always felt that it is mental illness but medical science does not agree with me anymore.

This is a pointless argument though, I have no skin in this game, I haven't even personally known a trans person in 16 years or so.

A $65 medical dictionary on amazon is definetly not referenced by medical professionals. So no. The description you provided is literally part of the new wave of sociology and feminism. The same that believe gender is a social construct. This has been discussed and disproven by any psychologist worth their salt who doesn't buy into the post modernist ideology.

To each their own :bigjoint:

None of them are really expensive, the 4 most used ones in North America range from $30-130, it isn't like buying a textbook it is just a dictionary. They are all cheaper than my cheapest chemistry text.

It hasn't actually been disproven which is why psychology stripped GID from the DSM, altered its definition and called it GD. I figure before we die GD won't even be in the DSM anymore, it will be just accepted as normal (as fucking odd as I find this). Psychiatric beliefs (like all science and medicine) alter as evidence and knowledge increase, there are people in every field who refuse to change stances despite evidence and consensus though, we see it currently with cannabis as a medicine.

I figure if you gotta read a book to find out what gender a person is, life is getting way too complicated. I had someone I've known for over 30 years decide he was going to be a woman all of a sudden at 50 years old., but he wanted to stay married to his wife and date another woman. He was a normal guy for all those years - now he looks and acts like a freak. I'll stick to associating with obvious males and females and avoid those who confuse me. It's better for everyone that way.

We live in very odd times.
