i dont really like to login and start typing but im at a loss as logic isnt in a plants nature or is it i dont know ?
ive been growing for a while now, years to be exact in soil as cash, space and numerous other factors came into play but either way ive had some success.
as time progressed soil really started to piss me off, draggin it about to begin with is a bitch, as is buying new everytime and veg times being longer blah blah blah

here is my question. i have a 9 pod ebb n grow(flood n drain) not yet set up.( 9 pods for really quick veg times )600w lumy in a 120x120 tent .
but a close mate is adament he can absolutely wipe the floor with multiple plant set ups. in a 1m2 or 120x120 with 2x250w hps using 1 plant in a 90 litre res dwc style with drip ring in 3 months total ,he said actually a cutting once rooted, 3 weeks veg and 8 week with flower .
im not saying he or myself are full of the brown stuff just would like other opinions.
i will be a bit pissed at blowin some hard earned but i never paid "those prices" anyways ! like i said my experience has been soil so im a newb at hydro
your experience is needed.

you have a little more EXP then me but i would go with multiple plants so u have multiple strains!Tolerance is a bitch and u either take smoke BREAKS or have multiple strains on hand.than again if uour just lookin to make some cash its proven that SOG is the most efficient method besides vertical.

i would never do one as it might be a male or a hermie then u got to start all over wasted time and money

thanks BudReaky, that was sort of my argument apart from different strains ! the way we usually grow in tents is aimed towards the canopy is it not ? ive figured short, trained plants over time, just sort of use every bit of canopy as below a certain level all goes to shit using just a single 600w in a tent. my mate has a plant that is filling a tent upwards and outwards using 2 x250 from above. i said what about light penetration of a 250w to begin with ? whats the point of a 6 foot plant if only the top 18 inches at most are getting light ?
some more of my points right there !

With one plant you will have to vegg it for longer to fill up your space. Multiple plants could be smaller, meaning less vegg time, meaning a faster turn around. I say go with your 9 plants. If you can get some clones to start, I bet you could harvest a comparable yeild to your buddy in 10 weeks compared to his 12, since your 9 plants won't have to get anywhere near as big as his one.

mrboots, thanks, thats my exact point right there but he adament, i also suggested over a space of 12 months my yield would exceed his by far as i get more harvests obviously. some people wont come round to a better idea as im sure it is.

Well 1 plant is'nt gonna filla 10ftx10ft tent now is it ? Yes mutiple plants Low stress train those bithches and you will embarress the hell out of your buddy .One of the threads I read on LST the dude got 4 1/4 ounces of one plant in 10 weeks total . I

weird!, im in the exact same ponderous predicament, i was thinking of doing single cola plants [for the 1st time] but due to more reading people saiyin sog is most yeilding im in two minds, but with you id say the choice is clear 9 plants vedging for about a week in that flood n drain setup is enough your already gunna have to prune like fuk, we guessing about 1 and a half to 2 ounces per plant? so if u sed roughly from 14 to 20 ounce end yield? maybe more... it would take about a month of vegding to get that out of one plant

thanx i was thinking the same, its about the time issue, why wait when you can get more harvests per year, either ways its gotta be better off doing multiple plants.
i love dwc its a beautifully simple system as long as you watch it and temps are a bitch as far as ive been told anyway ?
i will keep checking this thread incase someone can show both ways, same atmospheric conditions, lights etc doubt it but it would be great.
same goes if someone can show a single plant beating off multiples in 100cm or 120cm with quite small veg time considering. all info is in the thread.
you have all been great.
