I am just about ready to buy my frist dwc/bubbleponics setup...I have the list I just need the money...it would ahelp a little bit...lol

I figure I'd grow 4-6 plants at once in a 4x4 tent...whih i already have so i can check that off the list

i was planning on buying the following at www.discount-hydro.com:

7x 3.5 gallon buckets
7x 3.5 gallon bucket lids
10 liter bag of hydroton
8 cubes of rockwool
3x dual air pumps
20 foot airline tube
6x 6" airstones
maxigrow and maxibloom 2.2 lbs for each
ph test kit
ph dry balance 1.5 lbs up and down each

I know that i put 7 down for buckets but that's just how i'm gonna switch the water

I also know i don't have a light or co2...but co2 i can't afford and really don't think it's such a necessity...and as for the light...i'll just shell out another 210 for a 400w or 270 for a 1000w...remember i have a 4x4 grow tent

All help will be extremely appreciated

Well, you are missing quite a few things on that list. most notably are the lack of fans (ventilation and oscillating), a water chiller (and ebb & flow fittings, feed and return lines for your buckets and controller reservoir if recirculating)...

I have only pulled a couple successful harvests with DWC, so I am fairly new to this style of growing as well. But the potential of this system is amazing, and I have grown some monsters in DWC.

First off, I would suggest you give more information about your entire system what's your ventilation set-up? do you have a chiller?, whats your ambient temp/RH and your water tmeps?, is this system going to be recirculating, or will you just be running an airlstone to each bucket?

I could ask more questions, but you probably get the point... we need more information to really help you out.
you should definitely go with a 400W light for a 4x4 space unless you have really great ventiliation and a chiller, in which case you can get away with a 600W light and really turn out some great harvests from that space...

dont worry at all about co2 athis point, you need to get your grow space dialed in first, then get your DWC system set-up, and down the road after several successful harvests, you can start adding the exotic stuff :weed:...

i couldn't have put it any better man...thanks and uhh...no not recirculating in which case, yes there would be an airstone to each bucket...also i could get a 6" fan for like 20 bucks....do you know of any bigger and cheaper that i could get online

get 2 fans...one fer intake, 1 fer output...yea...nix the co2 youll be in that tent often enough for plenty of extra co2 to get in along with the intake fan that shouldnt be a problem .....dont forget a camera....you'll be wanting that too! also a thermometers a pretty damn good idea...one with a humidity checker thingy...lol how about a siphon hose?? Sterile scissors, a turkey baster helps to draw a little test water out with...if you get one with oz/ litre marks it seems to help measuring nutes with...um....a small dust broom JUST for the tent....kept inside..dont wanna track in mites....hopefully that wont be a problem for you....you wanna eventually get a ppm meter....( i dont have one I'm cheap....) Damn I love shopping sprees! good luck! Oh... you may wanna double up on your air pumps....

but i already have 3x dual pumps which should be quite enough for 6 buckets if i'm not mistaken

I'm curious why you don't start with a 12 to 15 gal tote and do 4 plants to start? 4 12 inch airstones, a single robust air pump, and with the other stuff on your list you are in business. Much simpler to start with than what you are describing. I'd also be concerned about heat in that space.

well it'll be in the attic and it's almost winter time, so I'm not too concerned about the heat...but i also have to remember that i have a spending cap on this equipment and the buckets was he cheapest i found with the exception of how much ferts and nutes i'll use:wall:

it will be much easier to maintain 1 res/tote than numberous buckets, also if it hold more the temps will be more constant. Since we are budjeting here, you can scratch ph up off the list.

yah you need a thermometer and a hygrometer too. 400w is perfect for that. also make sure you got good ventilation

by ventilation do you mean a 100 dollar 8" fan with ducting for the light....hmm fuck that i'm cheap lol

which bin me to my next questions...say i used all the suplies i listed and put forth....could i grow quarter pound or half lb each plant with a 400w light come christmas time....impossible right

you want 4 ozs each plant? are you starting from clones or seed. if you start from seed i doubt it in that time. or if you could pull it off you need 1-2 weeks to properly dry nugs then 1-2 weeks to cure. maybe if you comeing from clones and you dry really fast

the ph after mixing nutes requires down, the ph raises, you add down, I have never needed ph up. If by chance you added way too much down baking soda is about 50 cents.

i'll be growing white widow and super silver haze...both take around two monthes and a week of flowering.....sohow long would it take for those to grow like 3.5 - 4 feet
