Hello all
A semi noob here. Starting a new grow, just got some questions, my last grow was in rock wool there not finished but are doing good close to being done,
this time I'm trying something different though,
I'm starting from seed in a 50 50 perlite vermiculite mix.
Under two t8s 6500k ( bigger lights when there bigger ofcourse,) I planted three beans straight in the mix, I'm thinking of doing another three starting in a rock wool cube then in to the mix, any one have any pointers for my new grow

If you can help it try and post one post on the same question. Your post on General MJ Growing is sufficient and if need be just bump it up to see if you get more answers. Most people who are on RIU scroll through all these categories and your gonna get the same views as if you had it in just one. Good Luck.

check out https://www.rollitup.org/drain-waste-hydro/546006-world-hempy-760.html#post9978899
a hempy is a pot that doesn't have drainage holes on the bottom like a traditional pot.
there is a hole 2" up (or 2-3 holes) that keeps water in the pot acting like a small reservoir.
you can use a myriad of mediums but the traditional mix is 75% perlite 25% vermiculite (i think)
some use straight perlite, and others do coco mixes or even a mix or whatever they have. Rockwool hempys are cool and have been proven to work just as great.

i like to do moms in soil, and do clones into the hempys. I use an aerocloner now but used to use 1x1 rockwool cubes. the pots were 3L and the problem with going from rockwool is you get algae if when you water the water over-hydrates the rockwool. this could lead to stemrot if you aren't careful!

the beauty of it is , that you treat it just like any other hydroponics, except there are no pumps or anything
hope this helps

it isn't soil hes talking doing soil-less mix
by jiffy pots do you mean peat cups(yeah they suck)? or do you mean the rapid rooter sponges? the rapid rooters (sometimes other name) will give you results similar to rockwool when transplanting to a hempy.
I never got to try it but I'd imagine it may be better , because it might have less chance of getting algae growth or getting oversaturated, i haven't tested them yet.

Sorry about the double post, wasn't exactly sure were to post it, n I was hopping for more answeres. But sorry. How do I bump

And yeah I ment the peat pots, buddy of mine has good luck with them, but I've already played with rock wool and I like them ( had an algy problem last batch, but didn't affect anything)
I have three straight in the perlite/ vermiculite mixture, 4" pots
Was thinking of going in to hempy on transplant
Also just dropped three in rock wool planing on letting them pop then dropping in per/Verm mix
I see two in pots starting to pop this is there first full day in

I need to read alittle about hempys before I try going in to them though

For hempy buckets, I would suggest you try the Lucas Formula if you're a first timer. Just run a search on "asklucas".
