You want a plain one with no nutes. I get mine in a huge bag from a farm supply place. I don't use coco but it goes into my mix as about 25% of the mix.

you need to give perlite (some brands) a rinse with clean water, the dust is bad for u and it can clog your plants up
hope this helps

Coco and perlite seems redundant.
Say what?

Well, are we talking soil that has coco in it? Or just coco? Because coco is not soil, unless it has been amended with organic matter.
If you are talking straight up coco: Mix 1 part perlite(#3 if you can find it), with 2 parts coco.
I've been using coco since the day it hit the shelves. And i like it cut with 1/3 perlite WAY better than straight up;-)

I don't know about the "clog your plants up" thing, but yes, the dust is bad for us. Wear a mask.
I use a pre-mix coco these days(Big city hydro mix), to avoid messing with the perlite. It also does NOT need broken apart like most bagged coco. It costs more this way, but is so worth it to me.

Perlite is neutral compound like light rocks, wash first then add to your medium, its great to avoids nute burn in soils and avoid root compaction ..also allows considerable air into the medium, but like me the shit always floats to the top after a few watering no matter stick in back, in soil grows 30% of the pot is the best tho I've not used it in cococ, wash that too 3rd world fucks claim they have at source ,,,,yeah right or suffer unexplained nute burn issues ...?
