pests? gnats?? grow box

im getting a few fruit flies i believe there called gnats? in my veggg boxx

and was wondering if they are an issue and can effect my growing.
if so? how can i get rid of them?

They are called fungus gnats. The lay eggs in the soil and the larvae that hatch eat your roots.

Spray, get one of those yellow sticky traps, and or put 1" or more of sand on top of your dirt. (sterilized sand like aquarium sand from a pet store, or cook it in the oven first so you don't get any more trouble from it)

Water heavy and look at the tiny white things that come out in the runoff water with a magnifying glass. If a lot come out then a hell of a lot more are still in there. That's just so you can see what I'm talking about.

ima flush my clones and mother and check for eggs

Let the soil dry out. The top of your soil is always moist. Its a sign of over watering as well.
