Don't you get it the United states government don't give two fucks about some bullshit petition They just let you do it so they can brainwash you into thinking we still have a democracy when we have nothing more than brainwashed mob rule. The banksters and corporations own our government and soon will own the people to.

I am a realist but, politicians trying to knock off an incumbent look at issues like this to use in their platform when there are numbers to support it. I got the link in an email and took the five minutes to sign up. It can not hurt. When the signatures hit a certain number the white house has make an official response.

They had to hit 100K, and are well past it.

since the gov is pressuring nations to turn him over, I seriously doubt any push from the people will effect his fate. I'm quite surprised that he's still alive, but to some degree, the publicity helps him stay alive.

I'm sure he thought this thru pretty well before doing it. He knew the blowback would be too politically costly for them to just rub him out. The fucked up part is that the President could sign an executive order which would allow him to be tried in our court system in broad daylight. They apparently don't want that to happen though. This guy will end up in some prison who knows where without due process. Fucked up.

Honestly, between this ordeal, and all the videos of officers abusing their power/s, it seems like we're reaching the fulcrum. If things continue as they have, I see bad things on the horizon.

I just found out a few of my friends want to move to Portugal... that's starting to sound real tempting. Spain is right next door, and for a few reasons I like Spain.

After reading this http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2013/jun/17/edward-snowden-nsa-files-whistleblower
I think we should be a little more outraged. The mans motives were in the best interest of this country. The
Bradley Manning kid turned over raw data to someone that had a very selfish interest and who openly hates
the U.S. and would rather see her fall then be fixed.

If 30 million people sign this, there may be different results on a government level. If a million+ people sign
it, the main stream media may cover it differently.

I do not expect much from politicians these days. 95% of them are just empty vessel puppets that say
and do whatever their sponsors tell them to do. They are going to get away with what ever the main
stream media will allow them to get away with. What I am disgusted with, is the media. I think at most
all they have is 20 years left. Smaller independent web based news outlets will take over and hopefully
right the ship, with informative, truthfull unopinionated actual news. It is scary what the government has
been able to get away with since sept 01.

I think she is still fixable but, I want to live outside of the US for other reasons I guess. The world needs the
US in her best form much more then they would like to admit. 20-30 years from now the demographics of the
people who vote, really change in this country. I have read the conclusions of some think tanks and they seem to
think a lot will happen.

Agreed.

When was the last time somebody born in the 90's read a physical newspaper? I'm older than that, but that's our current (just getting into) college students.

It used to be a big deal when the news did an article on anything. Since printed press is declining, being "on the news" changed.
All I hear about is bad news, when does the good news get to come around?

My little brother and his friends will be heading to school this year. Their generation use to scare me but, now
I am blown away by them. They seem at least five years more mature and know so much more then my friends
and I at that age. They literally have the world at their finger tips. Things can change at rates now that are just
mind boggling.
