Pets, Dogs?

How's it going everyone? Haven't been active for too long but I had a question that I was almost 100% sure I could find the answer to. It's time for my family to get a dog, I want a dog that is going to be a fun dog to have around, someone with a good personality, and someone who will grow with the kids and be protective. I think those are some great qualities of a dog, I'm going to be training it. Maybe a dog I can sit and have a toke with? One great thing would be not one that sheds so much as I have people in my family with allergies. Extensive hair on furniture would not be a +

I would love to hear from you all with a couple dogs you love. What kind of dog, etc. Why? Some stories.
Thanks

Do not feel pity for a shelter dog, adopt it instead.
South African Boerboel. Very short haired breed, massive animal, last weighing mine went 151 lb just shy of his 2nd birthday. Super loveable, a giant clown. Google it & you will see a couple color variations, Fawn to Brindle.
My .02

I wanted to get a puppy blue nose pit, but everyone in my family is going against it. So that is out of the question as of now, other dogs?

I have a boxer and love her. She is on the energetic sides sometimes but that's just boxers in general. Playful with the family, easy to train, will bite a mother fuckers face off if she needs too.

The commands she knew before 6 months - she's 8 months now.

Sit
Lay Down / Chill bro...she will lay down if you say either. :-)
Rollover
Come
Heel
Shake

Smart Dogs with high energy and a little ADD.

damn that sucks im guessing they believe in alot of the rumors the surround the breed huh
Mhm, it's quite stupid if you ask me. Nothing of one kind is all bad. - I wanted a pug for some time, I think they look adoreable with their face all smooshed. Going to keep thinking.

Pugs are pretty cool but seem to be prone to having there eyes knocked out of the socket. Damndest thing I ever heard, but a friend has one and this happened & apparently the Vet said it is not that uncommon with that breed.
Check into a Jack Russel Terrier, they are pretty high energy but very loyal and loveable (plus short haired & not alot of that either).

I have a small dog that's most likely a mix of Havanese and Yorkshire. This dog doesn't shed, but needs to be combed regularly. I think that anybody who had one would be satisfied with it as a pet. It has never chewed anything other than its toys, almost housebroke itself, never sheds, is easy to bath, is very playful, and a small bag of puppy chow lasts 2 months. As another plus, it's very easy to clean up after and takes up very little room.

Good luck on finding your pet.
