PH conflict.. Meter/Water company

My water company says our tap PH is 8.1.

Just calibrated my Milwaukee digital tester and it read 7.6 in 2 different homes.

I've heard PH can fluctuate from day to night.. anyone have any thoughts on this?

7.6 seems close enough to their internal reading. remember, pH changes as it moves through different pipes and stuff.

Ok.. i didnt know exactly how much it fluctuates.
