I suggest you work with TechnaFlora pH control products. The nitric acid is a lot more stable than GH phosphoric acid in a recirculating system.

Mixing your solution ahead of time will help too. The night before you change your reservoir mix up all the nutrients you'll need for the next week in a separate reservoir. Balance your pH to about 5.5. Allow the solution to rest over night, 8 to 12 hours. When you return it should have risen to 5.8 or 6.0. So lower it back to where you want it again. Allow for another hour to go by. Come back and balance it again right to where you want it. This time it should hold pretty steady.

Keep a few gallons on the side to top off your reservoir over the next few days. Keep it mixing and keep it balanced.

BGbuds:The blue Milwakee pH tester has lasted me close to a couple of years and it's very user friendly.

Yeah you're going to need PH up and down liquid. You are definitely doing the right thing with buying a digital meter, the liquid that test the water runs out waaaaaaaaaaaaay quicker than up and down. My liquid tester ran out and the UP and DOWN has barely moved from when I got it.

BGBuds: I don't know anything about that yellow one. The price worries me though because you often get what you pay for. My blue Milwakee was around $60 but it's proven to be pretty much bullet proof. The salesman at the hydroponics store showed me three or four other single pH meters he had in the less than $100 price range and mine wasn't the most expensive. He admitted that the return rate on the cheaper ones was higher. You might want to go back on line and look up that brand and see what kind of reviews it's receiving. Who knows, you might have discovered a good unit at a cheaper price. Please keep us posted.
