pH meter not accurate with distilled water

i have a milwaukee meter that want give me a reading, it starts at 8.0 and with every spin it goes down a point. Now had cheap meter that did the same thing. does anybody know what is wrong?

I use the Milwaukee meter too. Did you calibrate it using the calibration solution and the small screwdriver? Distilled water usually displays a reading of 7.0 after calibration.

...imo, I've got 3 different meters, 1 milwaukee and 2 bluelabs...and they are all pain in the asses!
...now a days, I use the General Hydroponics liquid pH test kit....it's cheap, and it doesn't need calibrated.
I found myself using the liquid kit to double check the meters...now I only use the liquid kit.

When I use distilled water I don't bother checking the PH value (in DWC). When I've checked it in the past, it's always been around 7.

yes i know the pH600 is peice thats y i got the pH51. the hannah may work 4u, but heard otherwise from others including albfuck. thanks 4 ur responses, but come on have i calibrated it, yes. i guess there r dummies out there that wouldn't have. keep it coming please sirs and maams.

my ph600 had its life cut short for being a P.O.S.
i found i was double checking it all the time too with a liquid kit.
now, thats all i use too.
my ph600 didnt even come with calibration solution...i had to get my own.
