PH/nute question

When I mix up my nutes it drags my PH down very low (4.5) so I went and bought some PH up to raise it after I mix my nutes... Problem is the instructions say that to get it to the PH level i want I need to add 1 teaspoon of the PH up per.... ONE HUNDRED (100) gallons..................................:-?

I only mix my nutes per the gallon, so does that mean I need to add 1/100th of a teaspoon??? I added like 1/2 teaspoon to my half gallon of nutes left and it raised it all the way up alkaline... What should I do?

Start out with one milliliter per gallon. Wait 15 To 30 minutes, and test your water again. Frequently you will only need 1 to 2 mil of pH Up/Down per gallon of water. You may need additional pH Up/Down if you have hard water. The General Hydroponics Flora Series is pH buffered to facilitate keeping the pH in a favorable range.

Hi ya :)

That sounds like some pretty strong PH up :).... Get yourself a Pippet .. or a syringe ( more control ) and just dab a tiny bit at a time .... stir and check with PH meter .

it's hard to measure like that because its powder not liquid

EDIT: also, is it OK to use tap water? if so I will be able to nute up much more water because right now I'm buying water for my babies and don't wanna use too much

I think I'm just gonna buy a PH kit that comes with liquid PH up/down, liquid seems much more simple to manage so I think it will be worth it

The pH kits that pet shops sell (for aquaria) are very convenient to use, and cheaper than ripoff grow shops.
