pH of tap water VS bottled water

hey e1 ~
so ive been feeding my young seedlings with pH-downed bottled water that has one of the lowest chlorine readings i could find (8 mg / liter -- is that still not low enough??)

another question: i just pH tested some Brita-filtered tap water and surprisingly [to me] the initial reading was 6.4 ! even my bottled water was first at 7.5 and i had to down it to 6.4....

is that saying something? should i be feeding my young seedlings with the filtered tap water instead of the bottled water?
i understand that bottom line, the pH level is important, and if i get it down, who cares - but im wondering if the filtered tap water is already at a low pH does that mean it has some kind of advantage over the bottled water?

the only disadvantage i can think of with the tap water is that i dont know the chlorine levels - but i can solve that by leaving the water out for 24 hrs...

also, if i use a fish-tank-like water conditioner thats meant to bring down the chlorine level is that safe for my young plants?
how about for my plants at any stage?

thanks for all the help!:weed:

Do not use "PH DOWN/UP" from an aquarium store or pet supply store.

Haha, mine is a constant 35 PPM, and constant PH of 6.9, right out of the tap.

(sorry, couldn't help myself.lol) :)

how come? i asked the guy and he said its fine for all fresh water, even for plants. and he seemed to know what he was talking about.
i have been using it since i got it and my babies are doing fine...
also, i dont have a ppm meter so forget about that
