I just recently purchased the Bluelab Combo Meter and I'm very happy with it....kinda pricey though.

Just stepped on my PH meter today (woops!) so time to get a new one. The one I had was "flinn scientific" and it worked good enough at first. now about 6 months later it is pretty slow, but now its broken so that problems solved. So I bought a similar one, but different brand, will post results here after it arrives.

how much did it cost?

bump, need more info on meters

They go for about $250 US. It measures temps (in C or F), nutrients (in EC, CF, or PPM), and pH. There are a few reasons I went with this particular unit. First is the warranty - the unit carries a FIVE YEAR warranty. The pH probe itself is warranted for 6 months. Another thing I liked is that it uses separate probes for temp/nutrients and pH so if the pH probe needs replacing, that's all you're replacing if your temp/nutrient probe is still operating properly. Lastly, the opinions on this forum convinced me it was the way to go as opposed to buying three different meters...or even buying the Hanna or Milwaukee combo meters, both of which use a single probe for all functions and have a shorter warranty.

Anyway, I'm absolutely thrilled with it. It's extremely easy to use, extremely accurate, and their customer support is top notch - I called them before I purchased the unit to ask them a bunch of questions and just to get a sense of their customer service quality. Even assuming it only lasts exactly five years when the warranty expires, I think it's money well spent considering the cost and warranty lengths of the smaller single-purpose meters.

Thanks for the link on that, ya know 250$ might def be worth spending, especially if it comes with that good of a warranty and that good of customer service!

Ill def have to check the funds to see if i can afford this, but like i said i could def see it being well worth it so i might have to save some money for a couple weeks..

i was being sweet talking into the blue lab down the local shop, until i learnt the price, but once i'm up and going sstrong, with a harvest every month, i can certainly see the appeal of the 5 year warranty :)

after all i spent £80 on a plastic small EC and PPM meter so that#s halway there already!

Well Ive used a friends Hanna 99104 for a few months it seems ok, But they say not to use that one if you use a digital ballast witch i don't But when it came time for me to buy a meter I thought OK all the meters have diff warrantys but ALL the probes only have a 6 month. I've heard that they only last one to three years ( the probes) I can buy a new probe for Milwaukee for 50.00 For my friends Hanna 150.00 who know how much Blue lab would cost. MY Milwaukee sm802 I can calibrate with a turn of a knob and it works great. With my friend Hanna i wached him calibrate it and just put it in the solutions and it was automatic, I want to know what happens when the automatic doesn't work anymore. I payed140.00 (new) for My Milwaukee on eseasons.com

That sucks. Were you able to return the broken Milwaukee and get your money back?

That Tri-Meter for 132 on ebay is tempting. I did a search for replacement probes and if it is the right one about 50-60 bucks for the probes.
