pH problems in soil and flushing

so earlier this grow i was using an eye dropper style liquid pH meter, and predictably it was off by over a point. I started noticing early pH fluctuation symptoms got my pH pen working and found that my runoff was coming out at around 8.7. I've got 4 plants in 5gal smart pots and have put around 60 gal of balanced RO water through them. My run off is now coming out at around 7.8 but i'm in day three of flush and was wondering if anyone knew of a faster way to balance my soilless medium than a straight flush?? thanks.

Sounds like your ph pen was way off. I have been using the 100$ bluelab pen for a year and it is perfect . If your soil less medium is coco. Your nutes should go in at a ph of 5.7- 6.0 period!! Lol your flush should be the same 6.0 ph Ed water. I get my best results out of 7 gal coco pots. Yielding close to 10 Oz depending on strain . Ph is your most important part of your grow. I have been using A mix that comes up perfect 5.8 with no ph up or down! Try it out you will be amazed ! And DO Not water your coco everyday ... Let almost go dry . Watch the results.. I'm watering every 3 rd day with 10 percent runoff to get rid of salts . If you do this you will never have to flush. I have pics that will blow anyone's mind. Coco is hydro but does not need to be watered every day.!

Cyco bloom a 8 ml per gal
Cyco bloom B at 8 ml per gal
Rock resonator at 8-12 ml per gal
Flush for 10 days. Smoke is amazing.

So, your plants looked fine and you are flushing them with tons of water because a machine tells you to?
Don't over think it...

I would agree with no barriers, looking good. But, what do I know?

I really wish people would take the time and effort into setting up their grow styles PRIOR to trying to do so blind!

I would suggest if you are doing a soil grow to let your water sit for 24+ hours prior to using it for any nute mixture/and or watering! If you are truly trying hydro, then add water every day topping your solution up. I would only top up every 3-5 days according to your feed schedule. If you do a weekly res change, then everything I say is irrelevant!

To all those who say otherwise......
I have only changed my res once during my entire grow in my UC setup!!!
I hardly ever changed my res in an NFT setup prior to running UC build for the past couple of runs!

Flush/change out your res/system is a bunch of BS! I have never done so ever!!!! I change when the res tellls me to!!(smelll is the 1st sign) I had issues last round due to adding organics to my UC setup which causes huge issues!

This round: AN 3part, big bud, overdrive, bud blood. Nothing else so far in the res and all is going beyond GREAT!
