PH Problems!

I have a ph reading of 7.5 to 8 in a soil/perlite mix. The plants are in three gallon pots and seem stunted, but otherwise healthy. I want to use hydrated lime to correct this. How much lime do i add to 1 gallon of water to correct ph in a three gallon pot with plants in them?

Soil pH may be lowered and soil made more acidic by the addition of organic matter such as compost, peat moss, pine needles, or oak leaves.

Unfortunately very large quantities are necessary to change the pH measurement only a small amount.

You can also use sulfur to lower pH (1 - 2 lbs. (15ml) per 100 sq. ft.).

TO RAISE PH: Wood ash can be used.
