i bought a three in one meter from active air for soil pH, moisture, and light my water going in is 6.5 and the runoff is 6.2 ,(with test strips) but the meter says the soil is 8.0+(after watering)

if i stick it in my (undiluted) fox farm tiger bloom it goes right to 3.5

if i put it in my runoff it stays at 8.0 also is the meter fucked or is my soil???
the meter was only $9.99 USD so no big deal the moisture and light meter work:mrgreen:

gah those numbers are weird... umm try using only 1 tester. Stick with strips or just your meter. Id personally say use the strips.

Use a chemical tester. If the meter doesnt match the chemical tester then the digi stick is FUCKED. 9.99 is too cheap for an accurate reading anyway.

Decent digital PH meters are $50+

Good ones are at least $100 and you will have to buy calibration solution (just a bottle of a set PH chem) to reset them every once in a while.

I like the liquid tests for aquariums. They're better then Litmus paper, they are cheap as hell, and they are always accurate.

I bought one of those to I think they are a piece of shit just get the digital one off ebay for like $25 and get extra calibration solution with it to. Ive had mine a couple of weeks and works great.
