PHing Organic Nutrients in Coco???

Hi, I am new to using Organics with Coco so have 1 question before I water. Anyway I do a 70 coco/30 perlite mix for my medium and am using Earth Juice Original organic line. I do add Pro-tekt Silica for my source of Silica and potassium and also House and Gardens Roots Excelurator because it is the best product of all time when it comes to growing so my mix isn't completely organic. After mixing up the Nutrients I realized the PH was very low which Pro Tekt and RE don't lower the PH. The PH was 3.7 and that doesn't seem healthy for the plants but maybe I am wrong since I have never used Organic nutrients in Coco. IDK how many people do this but I hope some1 has some info for me because I doubt Earth Juice will be able to get back too me tonight. I actually tried to increase the PH with no success which makes me believe it may be alright too just give them the solution. When I used Organics in Soil(Same nutrient line) I never worried about the PH and never ran into problems so I if I don't hear anything I am going to assume it will be alright. I am done rambling on so any info is greatly appreciated.

I grow in cococ and in the last few weeks I switch to more organic supplements. I always find myself calibrating my ph. pen or should I say checking it in a calibrating solution. this is because I normally have to ph. up a lot more than normal. I also have to let the nutrient / water mix set for at least 20 min to get a stable ph.

Shake bottles well and check the ph. tool, I think 3.7 is really low unless you have started with ph. correct water.

I have been seeing people talk about using citric acid and some sort of sugar (Sucanat I think) to make an organic PH down.

For PH up I use silica blast, I am sure any silica would work.... I sometimes have to add much more than is called for, but I have not yet seen any Ill effects of using the silica as my PH up.

Also check your meter, it might be off. Or you may just need to stir it a lot for an accurate reading. If you suspect your meter is off, go get the PH testing drops as a comparison.

In coco you want your PH spot on ALL the time!!! I think one of the major factors to coco's success is that its hard to over water, and in the right size pot the plants love multiple feedings a day, with that perfect PH being refreshed each time.

Hope i helped somewhat, and post what you wind up using!

No, I constantly check my PH meter and it is accurate. It is just weird I went and bought another bottle of PH Up because I suspected the other I had was old and useless. I added about 4 ML of ph Up with no affect to the PH. Stayed right under 4.0 PH. I use Pro-tekt which Is a Silica product and it is still that low lol. IDK I messaged Earth Juice and they said it should be alright but they would probably raise it to 4.5.

I have been using organic compost tea's in my coco plants. The compost tea brews for 24 hours and normally gets slightly alkaline (7.4-7.6). I use earth juice natural ph down which is citric acid. I have been ph'ing the brew slightly even though the way I grow is completely organic. I too felt the ph should be somewhat acidic. I am worried that using 5 ml of ph down might hurt the aerobic organisms I brewed for, but I also know that pot plants like it somewhat acidic. I normally get the ph of the 5 gallons of tea to 6.4 or so, and thats as low as I go.

Plants have been freaking amazing, and growing very well. I have heard that the raw sources of npk and micro's from the guanos, etc, have already been digested by the microorganisms(which were brewed by the thousands from the tea), and minimalized into simple elements the plants can take up easily without the ph having to be in any "range". my 2 cents fwiw
