Phone light for trichome maturity

I generally use a pocket microscope to get a sense for what stage the trichomes are at nearing harvest, but have found by accident a much easier method which i mostly use now. When the light shuts off, I shine my phone light quickly at the buds : if they glitter and sparkle, that means the trichomes are still clear and glassy. If the buds are frosty but there’s not much light reflection (like a flat white paint) they are really getting close now. I find this method surprisingly accurate and takes but a couple seconds. The microscope can be used for a final look before chop
