Phosphorus Def need 2nd opinion

i recently added more lime to my soil because i think it was lacking. i usually dont ph my water and have no problems but suddenly i have a widespread deficiency in my latest crop in the veg room accross 3 different strains so i must of forgot to add lime to the mix or not enough. what do you guys think. i have decent amount of experience but i when i start to experience some problems i would rather swallow my pride and make sure to do everything to erect the problem. so i think its phosphorus possibly magnesium also(probably just off ph). the veg room has been cold lately due to the polar vortex so not sure if that helped the problem or not.

it may be multiple things due to the lime situation but its only the bottom sunleaves so far eveyrthing else is still growing and green up top. using happyfrog with added wormcastings and perlite.

should i wait it out to see if the topdressed lime is working after a few weeks or should i wait till next watering and ph some water and leech it.

oh i use jacks classic 20-20-20 teaspoon each watering

If you forgot the lime on a few plants, especially the ones that are affected, I'm guessing your PH is probably off. Which in turn, would cause deficiencies.

It could very well be something else, but I'm pretty sure lime is used as a PH buffer, so if you forgot to use it, and usually do, that's probably your problem. See how top feeding some lime does like you said.

Plants aren't rootbound are they? Do you use any nutrients other than wormcastings and what's in the happyfrog?

they got put in those 3g pots when they fully rooted int heir party cups around the 30th so they have been vegging like almost 4 weeks they are about 14 inches tall. clones of critical kush, blue dream, and 7/8 sour.

i started with 1/4 teaspoon of jacks after 2 weeks in the frog then pushed them with a full feeding just recently of 1 teaspoon per gallon. i swap between that and the jacks bloom in flowering every other watering. still trying to figure out how much i can feed them but jacks seems to be doing pretty good so far. i used to use the fox farm line but was looking for something easier and cheaper.

If you added correct amount of dolomite to the soil to begin with you should be fine.

Jack's triple 20 is good stuff, that's not your problem.

i usually put 1 cup per cubic foot of soil of pulverized lime but i think i just forgot on one batch but im not totally sure.

i gotta harvest 3 plants tonight so il snap some pics in the veg room.

Looks like low soil ph for sure. Phosphorus is also locked out with soil ph below 6. Sounds like you may have forgotten lime as you said. Pulverized calcitic lime is powder (not hydrated lime) and can be mixed at the rate of 1tsp per gallon of water, water thoroughly and should raise you soils ph about half a point. Check runoff ph just to be sure before adding the lime. My guess is it'll read 5.5ish and the actual soil is about 5-5.2 ph.

these plants had wrote 12/30 so thats when i planted these clones into 3g pots so they are like 27 days into veg.

pretty sure i must of forgot lime one of the times i was mixing the soil that night because ive never had plants show signs of deficiency this early.

Peat based soils have the tendancy to get very acidic, low ph once the peat starts breaking down and the soils initial ph buffering ability wears out. I go from clone/seedling to 6in pot then straight to 7gal pots with 2 month veg till finish and the ph is fine for about 45-60 days then it crashes, time for re-lime usually at start of flower. Just my experience on the subject. Soils and watering/feeding frequency would be large variables to my experiences too.

been using happy frog for about a year now and it has not let me down so far just a few gnats here and there. saving up to switch over to coco drip system maybe. gonna start with a 2x4 table as an expirement then get 3 or 4 4x4 tables and try to go on a 2 week or 3 week perpetual harvest.

Some browning of lower fans, its nothing bro they are very nice plants. Don't change anything.

Sounds like a plan. Just beware coco can get funny with its ph too, if you aren't aware already. Get it dialed in and I'm sure you'll be lovin it.

Hate to hijack the thread so please forgive me but i must ask, is there a way to boost the phosphorus quickly? I am 5 weeks into a 8 week cycle growing in pro mix. at first i thought it was a burn but it hasnt changed only got worse so now im thinking deficiency.

Promix is just about all peat. Ph of your promix will drop lower the longer its used. Low ph will lock out phosphorus before the rest of the macro nutes.

If ur using descent nutes should have enough P.

Could also be 99 other causes as well. Start a thread, post some pics, and add as much details as u can. Get ur best help that way.
