Photoperiod vegging plant setting buds

I am running some Lake Tahoe by best coast genetics. One of the males showed early signs and was pumping out pollen while in veg early February. I was going to collect pollen from it, but thought twice since perhaps that means it isn't very stable? Asked the question but didn't get much traction. Ended up culling that one.

Here we are at almost 20 weeks from seed and I never flipped the 4 other remaining plants. Took some clones and gave some away, but now I've noticed that 1 of the plants that I thought was female is a male and putting out a lot of pollen sacs. Also, 1 of the female plants is stacking buds too.

Are these just unstable genetics causing them to flower in veg and should be avoided or is it an indication of early bud setting when it does get flipped? I'm going to take the fresh clones and move them to the flower tent and see what happens, but figured I would see if anyone has any input.

20 weeks from seed? That's a long time. There are strains that will flower after enough time even under 18/6 lights that are not auto's and have no ruderalis in them. These are typically going to be landraces from the Middle East region like Sinai, Lebanese, Morocco, etc...

Photoperiod or not, after 5 months that plant has decided to flower. They don't always play according to the rules we've set for them.

Yeah, I'm in no rush for bud and these got too tall out the gate to flower them in my space. So I've just sit of left them to their own devices.

Feed it a little more it's deficient
How much power per sq-m and what lights at what distance do you run?
3x3 tent with an HLG 350 rspec. These have definitely used up much if not all of the available nutrients in the original soil, but I'm not trying to flower them, so don't really care about their performance.

I once put a succulent in a wrong soil and it started flowering a few days after. I was stumped then after 6 weeks put it out of that pot - not a single root did grow into the new hostile soil. The tip of the root can sense the environment and one precursor of the flowering hormone is manufactured there, too.
Maybe if you can try to nurture it right it keeps veging...? I mean if you ever want to flower it out it preferably could be done with healthy green leaves..?

Yeah, I have clones of these plants being LST in 1 gallon pots currently. I'm not going to flower these

What's your light schedule? I've never had a photo flower unless I changed the light cycle.

Apparently you don't have any choice. At least with that one plant. She's flowering whether you want it to or not. :p
Well it is in the same tent as the "vegging" male which is probably about to drop pollen. I wonder if I just leave them, if they would actually go to seed...

I don't see why it wouldn't.

You sure they're not autos?
Wouldn't they have already flowered and finished in 20 weeks if they were auto's? By auto's I mean the typical Ruderalis hybrids. And those should start flowering within 8 weeks. Some plants will flower on their own given enough time. I've had non-auto strains do it and plants that were in small containers for a long time start to do it as well. Plants do what they want sometimes. Not what we expect them to do.

I've never grown any autos. But I've never had photo flower unless I changed the light cycle, and I've vegged for a long time before. Not saying it's not possible, just have never seen or heard about this before.

What about the people that have had mother bonsai plants in tiny containers for years?

18/6! 3 of the 5 phenos are flowering more than just pre-flowers, two males and this lady.
Is something funny?

maybe try to drop temps, more blue irradiance, 20/4, or a half an hour night interruption, or drop whatever hormones you feed them

I've had Moroccan Ketama and Egyptian Sinai strains start flowering under 18/6 but not all of the plants. Neither has any ruderalis in them.

As for mother bonsai plants I don't have an answer. Some plants do what they want. There are no absolutes. It's not math where 2+2=4 every time.

If they are auto, they would've set bud weeks ago, across all the phenos. I'm thinking it is just trash genetics, but not going to go that far until smoke report.
it may be fine thing is there's more to flower induction than what the bro's teach, it ma even be a good thing... it theoreticall means you could flower it out under longer light regime that may pack more weight

That's why I like math, lol. The 18/6 makes sense though. I do know some plants will flower under less than 12 hours darkness depending on strain.

I always just do 24/0 or 12/12.
