Photoperiods...

hey guys, I just have a couple quick questions on photoperiods. A partner and I have ten plants that are on about day 17 and look to be doing great so far. Right now we have them on a 24 hour photoperiod, is this good? We plan on moving them outdoors in mid May, does this change anything as far as photoperiods go? Also we just traded a couple plants to a friend who wanted some variety in his garden and got about 20 clones in return. The clones are also under the 24 hour light (only on their second day) in a propogation tray. We are using two, four ft, 40 watt fluorescent tubes. Are we all good? Peace.

24/0 sucks in my mind since the dark cycle is needed for roots grow and general plant grow. also it is a wast of energy and humans should not always try to outdo nature, it just won't work. the trick of indoors is to take out the weather odds and get the plant a stable environment to perfect grow. so i would suggest you to switch to 18/6 in lighting really:)

the right time to move outsides i always determent by the light hours you get in your place, as son this passes 16h and more and themps are stable above 65F/18°C you can go for sure outsides with your babies:)

the question if the bulbs are good is not so much determined by there wattage nor lumens but by the light spec of them. this should be in the range of 6500K/ cool white, so in the blue spec, for optimal grow in vegging. after this primal condition comes power in wattage and lumen, if your in the wrong spec of light they won't help you at all!;)

thanks green, yep they're cool white. I've been reading lots about envirolites so I've have a pretty good idea on color temperature and PAR and all that jazz. But what's the difference between the kelvin and the nm (can't find what it stands for) measurement? Peace.
