Focus on the buds so they don't just look like green blobs and don't stand between the light and the subject. A background that's darker than the subject is also helpful. I find some oblique lighting really helps bring out the trichomes too.

gratz... nothing like growing your own . Now dont cheat yourself ... cure it properly to get the best results . Hope it's real good !

I'm guessing the hps came in way late. You left out a ton of info if you want help. A pic of your grow area and some incite as to lighting, pots, soil, water....

Not bad for a first cfl grow. I admire your patience. :peace:

lemme ask something.... if i do happen to cut a plant early, and i end up harvesting and curing the green buds...what happens?

as for my setup. i have a 600 watt hps, a 400 watt hps and 8x40 watt flo lights.
i know for sure my pot set up isn't the best. i started the clones off in small pots then transplanted them into 3 litre pots. seems small to me. was thinking of putting them right into the 3 litre once i see roots on the clones, then putting them into a 5 or 7 litre pot. sound good?

Well, I have read that if you harvest an immature plant the buds will smell like fresh grass clippings or hay. Don't take my word for it, that's just what I read, I don't really have any personal experience.
