Picking Some Brains: I Want Me Some Purple Weed!

So I want something blue/purple for the kick ass appearance. Any recommendations?

I'm looking for a strain that's distinctive in appearance most of all, just for the fun of having something different. Obviously there are concerns about potency / yield, however it doesn't have to be the best, just good. Mostly Indica would be desirable, and something that is not autoflower so I could keep mothers going.

I know that sometimes you have to wait for the proper phenotype to get the color too, but are there any strains where it's very common? Blueberry looked pretty cool, but then I read some stuff about the phenotype being rare. Does anyone out there have some experience with this stuff?

almost any strain you grow, when left under colder temperatures for the night (left at like 60 degrees F) will turn purple/blue.
do that in mid-to-late flower to induce purpling. this sometimes even increases the resin production.

white label northern lights from attitude bank is a strong producer that takes easily to the purple coloration. white label always produces quality genetics so you'll get what you pay for.

i've grown northern lights out for 3 years it doesn't turn purple in my garden. Wonderberry is a great strain that goes purple.

Nirvana 'ICE' strain.

I have some buds curing right now... but during the drying process.. some of the "bud leafs" (the really small leafs around the buds) they turned darker and darker as the buds got further into the drying process. Some of them actually turned to a bluish hue color.. like a light navy blue color. And some of them actually turned purpleish.. grayish color. Very potent smoke btw.. IMO.

But yeah, I would suggest this strain..

But, if your looking for a purple strain.. I would look at something like 'Purple Urkle' or 'Purple Widow'. Something along those lines will give you what your looking for I believe.

Good luck to ya's.

peace.

You can make any strain turn color.. just by lowering the night tempatures (or like me, i only grow indoors..) so I would try and lower the temps during lights OFF times. It can be done though.. just by simply dropping 'lights OFF' temps a few degrees.

I've done it; I've seen it done; and I've read about it being done. So, again, it can be done.

But also, however.. I think your looking for an actual 'Purple' strain. So again, I would check out Nirvana or Attitude seed banks.. and see what they have in the lines of Purple strains.

Good luck to ya's.

no my northern lights doesn't turn purple because of the cold. It has gotten below 40 degrees and the NL doesn't go purple. Most plants will I'm not disagreeing with that but the northern lights I've used does not turn purple.

purple wreck reserva privada. The heavy purpling happens at the end. If you pick early you might miss the purple. At the end even the leafs turn purple. Indica small plants but tight indica buds.

A real purple strain will turn purple regardless of temperature. The picture posted above is an indoor plant where temps were 75-85 the entire grow.

dunno which way to go on this one, but i know from my bagseed experience, cold temps dont guarentee pruple buds. i had colder nights and warmer days throughout most of the grow, and it did indeed change the colors of some stems, but the buds are as green as ever.
