We are a little over two weeks in, I will update with more recent pics soon. We just transplanting into 2gals. Our medium is foxfarm ocean forrest. We have grow big, liquid seaweed, banana mana (banana extract nute), big bloom, and tiger bloom, and some happy frog ferts. Just started with the grow big at about half strength foliar feeding with that, the seaweed, and the banana mana. Feed every other watering. The original soil before transplant slightly burnt one of our babies. its ok, not too bad. Will that effect the plant in the long run if its just the first set of fan leaves. Temps range from 72-82 at highest, Hum ranges between 20-32% and they drop accordingly at night. Also what are your views on sticking with 24/0 until flowering rather than 18/6 then 12/12. I have been told not to bother with 18/6 because we are not sing any form of high power lighting. Also I know watering is plant to plant, but in general how much in volume (oz or a ratio) water do you usually use for each watering. Please any feedback and or advice that may help is welcome.

you can give is alot of water as long as it can drain well then just wait untill the soil is dry on the top and water again

24/0 is fine for rooting clones and seedlings but it is a good practice to switch to 18/6 after a few weeks to allow the plant a resting period. I have heard arguments for both and have tried it both ways and the 18/6 gave me better overall results when vegging under flouros.

From looking at your pictures, it appears that you are watering only the area around the plant. You should be watering the entire surface of the soil. Water slowly so that the soil has time to soak up the moisture. If you water too quickly, the water will drain quickly through the holes at the bottom of the pot. Now that you are watering more slowly, you can water the plant until the water starts to drain through the holes at the bottom of the pot. Once you see water draining through the holes at the bottom of the pot, you should stop watering. If you are now watering slowly, the soil should be thoroughly drenched. Now, you should not water again until (1) the pot is light in weight (you should pick up the pot when it is dry so you know how much it weighs when it is dry), (2) dig in the soil to see how moist it is an inch down (if it is fairly dry an inch down it might be ready for watering, but the pot should also be light in weight as well.

Also, be careful with the nutes as this could get you into more trouble than if you were under nuting the plant. Start with less and move up to more nutes as the plant starts to really show signs of growth. If you see signs that you have overdone the nutes, flush the soil with water to remove some of excess nutes. The best way to keep track of nutes and waterings is to keep a journal of what you have used. This will help you keep track of the present grow and will help you understand what works best on future grows and will keep you from making future errors.

One last comment on the watering. If you are watering only around the plant and not the entire surface like I suggested above, the plant roots will not expand to the dry soil areas. Why bother the plant will say to itself as the soil is always dry out there. This will inhibit the plant's ability to grow big and strong.
