I understand that things don't happen instantly.

What I'm trying to do is formulate an idea of average growth times. This way I can identify problems earlier and increase my chances of success the first time around which is very possible if you utilize some common sense and listen to experienced growers. .... I haven't made any substantial mistakes yet, and am growing under conditions that are much more challenging. I like a challenge. I want to learn to improvise, adapt, and overcome before I go out and drop some $1000 on a serious b setup.

I'm a DIY type grower and use whatever I have lying around the house when I need to do something with my plants. In my previous grows I've never had a hermie but probably did my best to make a few due to noob mistakes. This grow, I have what might be a hermie (still too early to be sure) among my three other happy females. While it is possible that my lack of complete darkness caused this, I do not believe it did. I think IF I caused it, it was the lack of nutrients for the first 2-3 weeks and a pH issue that I had (didnt count on my city water pH changing so drastically when they switched sources). I am not a strong believer that 'light leaks' cause serious problems. I believe that genetics is the main cause of hermies. All four of these sour diesels have strange looking pre-flowers on some nodes. Now that everything is stable and happy in my closet..... the small light leak should cause the other three to go he/she right?

I think I'll leave the light leak for this whole run and see what happens. I'll try to take a pic tonight when the lights go out to show the amount of light that is leaking... i have no meter to measure it. This will obviously not be scientific but I've seen folks claim that 'any' amount of light leaking WILL cause a plant to grow balls.... .so lets see. This run was a starter run anyway, just to pick out mothers and take clones...do some pollinating, etc. If they turn hermie (I dont think they will) I'll try it again with two healthy clones taken before 12/12 and try to duplicate the results...one with light leak one without.
