OK, Update:

I killed all 5 males. I am hanging on to them to use for tea or maybe hash I dont know, not important. I took the one remaining female and put it in a 12" pot (double the size of the one its in) and went back to 18/6 light. I am going to use it as a mother just for clone. I topped it so I get plenty of growth shoots. Hopefully in a few weeks I can start cloning. Once I get 4-6 clones I will veg them for 15 days and then flower. Once I go to flower I will pull the mother out, or maybe one of the clones and keep it in my new cloning space to keep on 18/6 light and then just continue to grow and clone this plant until I get a good handle on it. Once I have everything figured out I will go back to seed and start a good strain using the same process of clone, veg, flower and keep it constantly rotating. Almost like a micro SOG. We will see if I am just having delusions of grandeur or if it works.

I built a cloning box out of rubbermaids, 4-23w CFLs, and a big fan. I will use this box for clones and the mother only. I plan to move the mother from my main box as soon as she gets some good shoots on her. Once I see enough growth shoots I will begin cloning. I would like to ideally have a total of 6-8 clones rooted and going in the clone box before moving them to my main box and flowering. This is going to be a micro SOG if all works out. I will post some pics of the mother, the new box and the cloning stuff in a litte while.

I took all my dead dry males and made hash using the iso method from this website and WOW....I have been destroyed all day....two thumbs up for that!!!

So the ISO worked with the males huh... can you tell us what you did, and how much hash you got from the 5 males?

I took all 5 males, they were only about 10" tall covered with pollen sacks, threw them in a blender. I added some 91% isopropol alcohol to the blender and turned it on. I ground the mix all together then poured it through a coffee filter. I then strained the now green alcohol through another coffee filter. I took the twice strained green alcohol and added some of the ground up stems to it and put it on a flat glass plate. I took the plate and put it in my grow area, where its warm. I left it over night and all the alcohol evaporated. I then took a razor blade and scrapped all the sticky stuff left into a ball and smoked it. Probably had about a gram or so. It tasted like good hash and got me real high. I know what I am going to do with all my trimmings, stalks, and males from here out. The exact way to do it is in the FAQ section. It cost me 5 male plants, dried out, $2.47 for 200 coffee filters, and $5.67 for 2 bottles of isopropol alcohol of which I used about a shot glass worth. I have enough materials to make another 100 batches of the stuff...lol. If you have males and/or trimmings....make hash out of them, its too easy not to.

Thats bad ass man... I did it once with an 8th of shwag. I just let it soak for a few minutes.. used a fine cloth to filter it, then let it sit in the sun for a full day, but I used the 70% so it was taking for ever to evaporate.. I ended up submerging 3 cigarettes in the still liquid solution... I called them buz sticks... not really a high, but a very nice buz.

I will be working on a "how to" thread on making hash oil the ez zen style way (butane), but I need to wait till harvest.

Ok, an update with more pics. I decided to take my mother plant out of my main box to trim off dead leaves, look at the growth, and just give her a good once over. It was a real mofo getting that big pot in an out of my main box because of the design. I decided to put my mother plant in my newly constructed cloning box. I figured since there were not any clones in there it would serve this purpose for now, much easier to access. Once the mother is ready to give some clones, I will take the clones and move her to the main box again. Anway, my hope is I can get a perpetual micro SOG out of this setup, the two box deal. Only time will tell

YES, I intend to mylar the inside of the cloning box this weekend...before you all ask.

That little clone box I built stays very cool. I am not sure if its because I only have 4x23w bulbs in it or the 10" fan mounted to the side of it (LOL) but temps are in the low to mid 70s. My big box would routinely see temps in the mid 80s. I just hope the 4x23w are enough to veg this sucker so I can take some clippings from it some time this year.

Picked up a roll of 2mil mylar. I am going to coat the inside of that clone box and if I have a bunch left over I am going to do my main box, I like the idea of mylar better then white....looks more reflective.

I am a super lazy stoner but will get some pics of it all when I am done. I found that with my cheap camera I dont need to resize the pics before posting...and that makes it easier.

Ok,
So I went to the local hydro shop and picked up a big roll of mylar. I have to say it is a PITA to work with. I covered the entire inside of my clone/mother box with it and switched out the 4x23w unknown spectrum Bright Effects bulbs with 6x23w 6500K Sylvania bulbs. I think this will certainly make my mother plant grow quicker. She is very happy and healthy and so am I. I think I will mylar the entire inside of my main box as I have a TON of it left from the little clone/mother box. Anyway, here are the pics (porn):

Update,
Since adding the extra bulbs and the mylar I am getting higher temps. I am sure the bulbs are responsible for a little of it but I think a majority of it is from the insulating properties from the mylar. I am seeing an increase from low 70s to high 70s/low 80s. I know thats not bad as heat goes but I am wondering how much is a contribution of the mylar. The reason I ask is my main box uses a ton of lights and A/C ducted into the box with 2 fans pulling out to keep it in the low 80s. I want to mylar the inside of it but am afraid of making a situation where the temps are not controlable and escalate into the 90s. Has anyone seen temps increase due to mylar?

Ok guys here is an update. Sorry I know its been a while. My mother plant grew to the point that I felt it was time to steal some clones. I took six clones off her. I am very happy with the results. If the clones all take I will be psyched. The pics below are of "mom" before I cut the clones and then pics of the six clones in the tray with and without the clear lid on it. I am cloning in rockwool and used a liquid rooting hormone. We will see if it works. I now started LSTing the remaining branches on "mom" and put her into flower. If all the clones make it then I will retain one as a new "mom". I also just picked up 10 WW seeds. I will germ a few in a few weeks and if I get a male I may try to make my own hybrid out of WW and the strain I am growing now. , bagseedo. Well enjoy the pics. BTW, "mom" is now in my main grow cab under 12/12 while the clones are in my rubbermaid cloning box under 18/6. Keep your fingers crossed. Mini SOG here I come.
