Thing is... they've been under 400w HPS... but for 3 days there, only had light from a window... is that going to be an issue?

you are asking for bug trouble... stop doing that if you can.. window light will NOT cut it.... keep that 400 as close as you can without burning your plant... use a fan to blow air inbetween your plant and the light.. the fan should be at a slight angle upwards ... blowing the heat up and away...

every 12 inches, a light losses 1/2 of its LUMENS... yikes


12 hours of uninterupted darness every 24 hours is also KEY..

No I didn't do it on purpose. I was out of town for a week and the electricity went off. I had my friend do what she could (which was window light). It was only for that 72hrs, never again will it happen (electric is on now) Thanks and I have a small fan directly on the light itself to cool it and the reflector (works great) I also have an additional oscillating fan arranged exactly as you've described. Appreciate the reply.
