Pinkie Pie!!!!

009.jpg

went through and weeded out a bunch of males, still have 9-12 males per batch in 1 gallon pots still developing for selection and pollen collecting later. these are female for the most part short of 2 or 3 slow developing males per bunch but ill get them soon enough.

of all the males I did find 1 hermi boy with pistils.

008.jpg

the rest of the pics are males in a 1 gallon next to a single female ( someone else will be growing her out)
some males shown from the top (light purle on most)
some shots of the totes and a couple piles of males (many more were killed during this photo op)

105 degrees of nut drenching heat!!!!
these little guys are hangin in like champs tho, had to give a double watering today because by 12 they were already starting to look dry.... im not exaggerating here either, this place feels like Iraq! hahaha im talkin cant go into the light without sweat beggining to drench your ass!008.jpg

lots of pistils and plenty of purple calyx all around, first 5 pics are just the totes from a couple of angles the 6th is of a tray of A1 ive yet to transplant ( transplanting helps me control final size and lets me see who copes with stress the best so its a vital part of my breeding strategy) and the last 2 are the B1 tote which I beleive is now 100% female ( ill know for sure in a week or so)

007.jpg

and heres a pretty little A1 boy

one of the TD X PPF4 has begun to display pink pistils and 1 had begun displaying intersex traits and I pulled her (zero tolerance policy)

gunna be on high alert for the next couple of weeks to be sure no hermis slip through the cracks.

sure enough, just as I had suspected the intersex plants are starting to come out and show themselves.

caught this one early in the TD tote ( this outcross tote has been the only one to produce all 3 of the hermis Ive found so far Im guesing the hermi genes are coming from the TD as far as I can tell) pulled the male parts apart a bit so you can more easily see them. Rather than be upset I am actually quite elated! this is hinting to me that my lines have relatively low instances of intersex traits in female plants (still getting the occasional intersex males) and killing hermis is the best way to purge the TD X PPF4 line of this annoying trait.005.jpg

How old were the td when they hermied...makes my wonder if I should buy that stuff that gets rid of the balls. It kills them off some how. I'll look for it now

3/40 is less than 10% you shouldn't have to worry about it.

the only chemical I know that "gets rid of balls" is ethaphon but spraying your plants with chemicals "just in case" isnt smart, just be patient and if you see balls pull them off manually.
