Yep, this and also as said previously 'read the room.'

Lots of new people coming in and dick-swinging when they don't have much to swing and/or acting like they're a fantastic gift to growing, when they're just not.

...or how about people who come with a question and then just dig in and refuse to believe the knowledgeable answers they've been given. This happens ALL the time.

I do love people complaining about trolling and poor treatment and act like it's a new thing. Enough posts going back a decade with people making the same charges about how the trolling is getting bad or it just isn't as friendly as it was...

Come in reasonably humble, don't have a thin skin and let some stuff 'roll off your shoulders', etc. Pay attention to who's giving good advice and in what areas they're knowledgeable about, ignore others.

Part of the problem is that too many new growers turn to YouTube instead of picking up a book or gardening magazine.

If you check some of my earliest posts you will see that I spent time copying out information back in 2009 from one of my favourite publications back then called URBAN GARDEN MAGAZINE.

When they turn to YouTube they see some one like Mr Cantfuck (Canuck) throwing any old shit at his plants and then editing the fuck out of his pictures and videos to make his KFC (Kentucky fried cannabis thanks @xtsho lol) look half decent and they think how hard can it be.

And in reality it’s pretty easy if the new growers stop falling for the 26 different bottles of crap they think they need and supply a good all round base and work up from there.

Seeing the same old shitposts every single day sometimes multiple times per day gets really tiresome.

And finally if someone writing something on the internet offends you then I’m sorry but that’s on you not the other person.

It’s hard to understand satire when it’s in text form and sometimes that’s all most of it is but taken wrongly by the receiving party.

Ive been thinking of starting something, where 2 growers are vetted and then matched with 10 newbs as a group. They dont get access to the other groups grows and mentors...idk, herb&suds planted the seed for me to start thinking about it.
