Wondering if anyone can let me know if they ever ordered they're hydro gear from the states? I live in Montreal, and the merchants around here are plain crooks, arent we all, but they are legal ones. I can get 2 Lumatek 600W elec. ballasts in the states for the price of 1 out here. a Can fan-66 filter for 250$? a 450CFM Can-fan 6incher for 375$+?? you guys pay like 175$ for a vortech same size and all.

I feel like ordering from Plantlightinghydroponics, which looks like are near the ONT border and have very nice prices, just wondering if its gonna draw the red flag...

BY the time you pay the shipping it wont be very much cheaper if at all imo
I wouldn't agree with that sorry. Freight charges on big orders, ~125$ shipped to door, VS paying 365$ for a single ballast. The exchange money wise as been even for over 3 years now and we still pay twice what you guys do. Somebody somewhere is filling up their pockets.. I can get 8 lights for the price of 4 here, what would you do?

And by that example I am being generous. 365$ a ballast, 250$ a hood, and 90$ a light. VS 149$ + 100$reflect, 60$ a light.

I have bought all my gear from us sources, most gear (namebrand or not) is priced to Almost compete with US prices, the buy Canadian selling point is that you get to walk out the door with your goods and not have to wait for delivery.

Oh yes hydro gear is also not illegal, but everyone know this already.

Yea well lol I don't know alot of tomatoe farmers that use horticulture gear to grow :P so everyone plays ignorant :)

OH or NY, close enough for me.

Thanks alot for the responses Sir's

Oh and just as a side question, those of you that ordered from the states, did you mention anything special about the description of the custom or shipping tally that was provided from the shipping point? was it written STUFF TO GROW WEED, or plain HydroCulture comps or something similar.

I've ordered alot from Canadian retailers on ebay. Way cheaper than my local shop.
I'd rather pay abit more and ship across my country than cross a border and pay import taxes/duties.

Sounds like the hydro shops have little competition. We pay a lot less in BC. We still don't pay American prices, but closer to them.

I want to order Dyna Gro nutes online.
Would prefer a canadian source as UPS has always raped me on brokerage fees.

The worst part for me is that sometimes you want something specific and you cant find it north of the border.
That goes for a lot of stuff not just grow gear.

I wouldn't buy a lumatek, I "hear" there quality control has gone to a shit. My store guy has been getting returns on them like crazy over the past few months. Everywhere I look says "ace" is the way to go. Just what I've heard. =)

Best bet is to get in with your local grow shop and they can bring in almost anything for a fair price. That is all I do now is call, order, and pickup.
