Have been doing a very deep dive down the rabbit hole about a musical club I used to go to as a kid. Found out Layla was written at a motel right across the street from this club. I was young, only went there a few times and had to get snuck in by my brother. Quite literally every major rock and roll band of the late '60s except The Beatles appeared in this little nightclub, that barely held a thousand people, not 3000. The house band was the Blues Image, who did the song Ride Captain Ride. In scouring the internet, I found this little jewel, that is so indicative of the times it actually made me lol. This is a real, honest to God ad from the Miami Herald. Peace and love y'all:
