I knew a cop that had to bring his loaded firearm with him on a flight which is a convoluted process but eventually he is allowed to proceed thru airport security..... but they confiscated his tube of tooth paste because it was larger than the allowed 50ml size.I once went through airport security with a wire wrap gun.
Security: "What is this?"
ME: " A wire wrap gun"
Security: "GUN"
After much explanation, it was permitted to board the plane with me,
although because it was a "GUN", it had to be checked as baggage.
The looks and stares from the airport staff were priceless.
Uncertain objects get attention.
Carrying a loaded firearm through the Pittsburgh, PA Airport security will get noticed,
the Moon Township Police will escort you to a holding cell.
I started in 1984 with English step by step electromechanical and my wife worked with crossbar #5. Then upgraded to digital - DMS100 - took translations course. Wire wrapped for loops & repeaters, QVF, channel banks, LD1, FMT150, SONET DS1s, landlines, DSL, etc. Good times.BTW, I have used a wire wrap gun as I used to build telephone network switches.
I started in 1981 as a rack-dog then progressed to Siemens SxS, Northern Telecom crossbar & SP1 as well as GTD5, but mostly DMS100/200.I started in 1984 with English step by step electromechanical and my wife worked with crossbar #5. I'd be out half my pension, if I had to "say a few words" about some of the places I'd worked at.
I wasn't granted an exit interview, but did write 1500+ ppl my views. I booked 4 consecutive weeks off and with 2 weeks left of my vacation told them I didn't feel like coming back.I'd be out half my pension, if I had to "say a few words" about some of the places I'd worked at.
