Planning my grow room

OK, so I am planning on getting a used freezerless refrigerator and growing in it, I am coming up with this idea since odor and discretion is a big must for me. What I am wondering is what kind of potential would that give me? Could two plants fit in there? I would like them to get fairly big as I am looking to get the biggest yield with what I have to work with as well as I am thinking of going LED for the lighting.

What are the dimensions of the... refrigerator lol? You'd have to make custom holes to fit ventilation etc. As for lighting, if you go with LED, they emit zero heat which would require you to get some sort of heater to enter the realm of 75-85 deg F which is needed to grow.

Best of luck man!

Btw, to add to my previous comment (I'm sorry for double post) make sure the inside of your fridge is white! ... most of them are, I just felt the need to stress it haha :P

Well the inside is going to be lined with mylar blankets, and I am going to have a fan for circulation. as for room temperature, the small room that the fridgerator wiill be in will be set at 80 deg F, I also plan on having 1 alternative light source in there for ensure adequate heat. Dimensions will be 2 ft x 2 ft, and im looking for a fridge as tall as 6 ft. I am just curious as the kind of yeilds I can potentially get.

That's an interesting idea. I learn new things on here everyday haha. Refrigerator... not bad at all! I'd be interested in seeing a blog about this grow if you make one. Sounds like you've got everything down. Convenient because refrigerators have an internal air refreshing system already. The mylar will be good, as well as lighting, I'm sure you can rig the internal lighting system and change those crappy bulbs out to some more potent growing bulbs such as MH lighting or Fluorescent lighting.

I'm sure with 2 x 2 x 6 your yields will be just fine! :weed: Best of luck!

Anything is possible but i think 2 1/2 oz a month out of such a small area is going to be real tough. Hope you can prove me wrong though!)

Zero heat? Guess you have never Sean the heat sinc and fan on all good led. 75 in a unused frig is fucken hard to get. It's hotter. The same stuff keeping it cold will make it hot.

"refrigerators have an internal air refreshing system already" No, they don't.

"a friend of mine" is currently using an old 22 cu. ft. bottom freezer refrigerator in his basement for 2 plants during the veg phase from clone to before they go to 12/12. They are in the fridge for about 2 months before they go into a larger area for flowering. At the end of the 2 months in 2 gal airpots, they are filling the whole fridge and ready to be moved out. The fridge is obviously not functional, just for descreet storage. "He" drilled 4 - 6" holes in the back, and used cardboard to channel the air so that no light escapes. In one of the holes, he attached a 6" pc fan that creates negatives pressure drawing air in from the other holes (put the exhaust hole on top, and the intake on bottom that way it is pulling hot air out and pulling cooler air in). Using a 8 bulb 2 foot T5 light mounted just below the ceiling with hangers, that has the ability to turn off half the bulbs. It can be found here:http://www.fluorogrow.com/index.php/premium-grow-light-fixtures/evergreen-2-8-lamp.htmlTemps stay right around 75-85 degrees. When they are small he uses only half the lights on until they get larger and can absorb more heat. That being said, I would have to say that a complete grow from start to finish inside a fridge that produces the amount you are looking for is impossible between lighting and heat. But, they are a great place to start from, and can prevent you from needing to build a small veg room. The inside white plastic is the best reflector you can have (better than mylar in my opinion because it is no maintenance, and easy to clean).
