Plans for a Stealth Grow Box (Speaker)...the ultimate woodworking

By now I'm sure many of you are well on your way to healthy grows (hopefully). However, I myself, am not so lucky. Having just finished my freshman year at college, I returned home to New England where my parents have five VERY secluded acres, realizing all too late its potential for a small grow. However, I am not discouraged easily. Excited for next spring, I have already begun prep work, and being in a northern climate, a logical way to get a head start is start some seeds indoors. Now, I have zero experience in growing, but no time like the present to start right?

So, chances are I will still be in my apartment at school, or in my parents house by the time I need to start germination/vegging. However, the rents are not kosher with my hobby, so the only option would be to go SUPAH stealth; in which I have decided to construct a model speaker as a veg box, as woodworking has long run in the fam.

After some research in such a topic, I have found very few speaker set ups that seem worthy. One of the guidelines to creating something stealth would be making it look professional. So, I have taken the time to draft up some dimensions for my plans that will hopefully benefit someone out there. I want to start six plants, and I felt a reasonable interior space would be 1.5'x1.5'x2.5'(h). I plan to build it out of some high end plywood (home depot carries some sanded/finished stuff for around $45 for a 4'x8'x3/4" sheet). I want to set the front board (containing the fake drivers/speakers) in about a 1/4" to allow a big enough gap to place a speaker grill on comfortably. For lighting I will use six, 27 W (actually 100 W output) - daylight CFLs (5000K). The rest I feel is self explanatory...

However, several dilemmas are still present: first, light escaping is a main concern, so I am unsure how to block light coming out from the fan gaps. One thought would be to place some black weedblock, since it is still permeable to air, over the interior part of the fan, but I'm not positive that will work. Second, I need a way to get in and out of the box to water, examine, etc...could I simply use black tape to secure the back board in place? I thought screws but then every time I remove them, the holes would be stripped. Also hinges are no good, cuz, have you ever seen hinges on a speaker? No. Third, I think my plans to make a speaker grill are fine, however, I'm don't know how to attach it to the box without nailing it (which I do not want to do), I though magnets but that would leave an awkward gap. Lastly, I am by no means an electrician, and do not know how to attach two fans to an AC adapter, I know there is probably literature out there I could struggle through, I just thought someone might be able to save me some time and effort...

I hope the pictures are easy enough to follow and I realize this is a lot of info/questions. Any feedback from any of you fine experienced peers out there would be splendid...cheers!

I know there are SO many of you out there concerned about the multiple issues I have with my plans...just to help you all sleep better and worry-free, I have solve these problems. I think I will attach both the speaker grill and back of the box with adhesive magnetic strips, and for the light issue I have looked around and it seems like doubling up some black speaker cloth attached to the fan should keep the light out. As for the fan wiring...I'll probably just grill some Radio-shack tech with a few questions when it comes time. Thanks anyways.

I'd use activated carbon filter (a couple layers) over the exhaust fan to keep the light penetrating thru

I'd use either magnetic strip tape or velcro strip around the entire piece you plan on removing to get into it..

As for the fan wiring just look inside you pc case & see what wires are used for power wire the 2 same colors together from each fan then wire it to the adapter..
If they dont work wired 1 way they should the other
