Alright got the cool tube set up, used a old xbox lead lol. however still got some heat issues :(. Got the door open a lil and the temp is 86! I think it will rise to about 90 at its hottest hour! Do you think i can get away with it being that hot or would a cpu fan at the bottom for intake or a cpu fan at the top for exhaust help it out? Im only growing autoflower strains for the time being and apparantly they can take alot of abuse!!! Help would really really be appreciated at this stage of my 1st grow.
Cheers guys

Is there a passive intake on the cab already? I wouldn't use the cooltube the way that you are using it for this setup. Don't intake air from outside to cool the light, take air from inside the cab to cool the light. One end of the cooltube just stays open and draws air from the actual cabinet, the fan blows it out. Exhausts the heat from the room and the light at the same time. Cut a passive intake in the lower corner and you should be golden.

Alright changed it about. Cut the hole in the bottom corner, took the duckting off 1 end and put a 4" fan in top corner for more exhaust air. How do i make the cooltube exhaust fan quieter, does the filter make much difference? Also all the heat seems to be just under the light can i raise the light to 15" away? it is a 400w hps after all

you could raise it, but ideally you want to keep it about 12" - 16" for that light. Have you tempt tested it with the new configuration? I don't recall how many CFM's you are getting from that inline fan, but it should be plenty for that size cab. I find it hard to believe you are still in the 90's 15" away from that light. Do you have a fan blowing around inside the cab too? Just a small clip on fan or a box fan for circulation? I find that point a fan directly between the lamp and the tops of the plants is ideal. It keeps that temperature down significantly.

And what happens if you close the door? The door being open shouldn't make any difference now and 82-85 is fine.

With the door open a bit, it was bouncing around 82.6. With it shut it seems to be sticking on 84.9. The main fan leaves/stems are drooping but the 2nd growth leaves/stems aren't, whys that? adjusting to her new lights, the temp?

I'm not sure I understand your question. Can you post pics of what's going?

84.9 degrees is fine. It's on the upper end of things, but it's what we're aiming for. Pretty much anything below 90 is fine. 86 is actually pretty ideal. Worst case you might have to find a way to get some cooler air (perhaps from outside?) for your intake. I flower at night so that my lights are on during the night and I have access to cool night time air. In veg it's harder because you need 16 hours of light, but I use my flouro's until 12/12 for that reason.

I'm glad you love your new light, can you turn it off for pictures? Lol. I can't see anything in those!

It looks okay. Your soil has water in it I take it? Pot is pretty heavy still? If it is....then leave it alone. I don't know if you've ever watched a time lapse video of MJ growing, but it'll help relieve some of your fears about a little droop. My plants droop everyday. The one that drooped the most in veg is my biggest strongest budding plant now. Go figure.

I am familiar with Autopots, but they don't make much sense to me. If you want to grow automatically, grow hydro. I don't just don't see the purpose of the thing. Watering my plants is pretty easy.

Well apparently you yield far more, im going to test it out with my 2 himalayan diesel seedlings. Cheers for the help anyway buddy .
