Hi
This is my 1st tree and was never told i needed it to keep
it short.. using 1000w HPS on rail tho not much light
getting to bottom..

Should I :
- cut it down to half in week7 to havest top and
give 2 more weeks for bottom to grow with extra light

OR

- Should i cut away some of bottom flowers so top end
gets most of the attention .

Please Help

Its in week 3 now....

well you kinda screwed yourself as its gonna get taller yet so I hope its in a bran since its 7 feet may gey 1 more foot and the 1000 watt light need 18 inches so 10 foot ceilings are gonna be tight.Might try to start tying the top down slowly bending it to the side. Might be to late for it but worth a shot to get it to grow sidways or down. You ll wanna thin the bottom stuff away anyways as its not gonna get light and is just sucking water and nutes from the top of the plant that will yield.

must be a sativa. mmmm spicy. good idea on the tie down, just becareful and use alot of tension support lines hopefully hemp! if a snap or break does happen, which it might. take cheese clothe or some other fiberus non-residued material soaked in superthrive or other b1 hormone like stimulate (superthrive is non-organic as its chemistry is niether however is derived from organics like alfalfa, umm hay) and wrap tight, add support, TLC, etc. i suggest adding a lite running up the side and harvest in sections. this will give the rest of the plant time to rippin. best of luck and aloha.

Regardless of strain, the growth or stretch after switching to 12/12 will continue for about 1/3rd the entire length of the flowering cycle. So if they finish in 8 weeks, you have at least 2 and a half weeks of vertical growth to contend with after flowering.

Tie the top shoots down now! You don't have any other option if the plants are too tall for your space and you're already flowering... it's too late to trim them back and if you can't raise the light or lower the plants you have to tie them back.

Get some good staking points either on the plant containers or in the tray and pull down the tallest shoots until they are at a managable canopy level. They will revert back to top growth and be pointing up a few hours after tying them down. You won't get the big huge top colas but you will likely increase your yield.

it was outdoor but i grew a huge plant in with tomatoes and she was ridiculously tall. i had 8ft fence line and need a deperate solution so my mom. (yes my mom) suggested i tie hemp twine to bricks and the two main branches. i gradully pulled down every couple days just before i thought it might break. she took just fine more worried about the light then me molesting her. i started with the two main branches then keep at it since the rest started stretch to get light. forming sideway "S". all said and done she covered over 10 square feet of ground, and colas were chest high. that was along time ago but i am currently trying to duplicate the process with a 1kw with the umbrella style hood and a 5x5x6 box. strain is mexican sativa from sensi! i plan on going for as long as i can training with ScrOG. my room is almost finished and i will post the process when i start. horizontal growth will optimize light penetration.

Hi Darran..

1. I need to see a picture please :)
2. If the top 3-4 feet of the plant is ready to harvest. it would not hurt to harvest it and then leave thebottom have of the p[lant under the light for an few extra days.

keep us posted..

does she fall over?

Try super cropping your plant. Basically, add a joint in the plant, the plant will heal after a few days and this will allow your plant to have more budding spots due to the light being able to reach down to the bottom of your monster of a plant. This can be done by squeezing the plant and slightly rolling it between your thumb and forefinger untill you feel small crunches..this is the inner pulp of the plant being pressed together. a lot of the time you will see small tears in the outer bark but that will heal in a few days and does no real damage to the plant. if done correctly the plant will bent and somewhat fall in that spot. after 24 hours of steady light you will notice that it has started to perk back up and in about one week (5 to 7 days) the whole section will be facing upward once again. then start your light cycle of 12/12 and let that monster start to bud!!!
