Plant is Reverting from Flowering to Vegetative Stage

I had several different strains of plant do this. They all exhibited the same behavior. They were under a 400W HPS light (with none closer than 18") and all were 3 weeks into the budding stage and had buds on them. Then they started putting out a lot of small leaves throughout the buds.It was like the plants were reverting to the vegetative stage as the buds were being replaced by these small leaves. My question is why did the plants do this?

as long as you dont have any light leaks in your grow room and your timer is set for 12 on and 12 off, you should have no problem.. its ok for their to be little leafs on and under the buds, it happens. look at some grow journals and look here also

if you post some pics it would help too. :peace:

The way they can revert back to vegging is to change the light cycle back to 24/0 or 18/6. They have not reverted they are behaving normally.

What you are seeing with your buds is completely normal for your fruits. Buds are always a combination of tiny leaves, hairs, and crystals. The tiny leaves and the crystals are what makes the density and stickyness of the buds. As the bud grows the leaves and hairs stack up and out and all the while the crystals form throughout the buds.

Your plants are just fine.

I realize that the buds normaly have little leaves in them. What happened to me was that the buds had many more leaves than normal. From a distance it looked as if the buds were enclosed in a cylender (the leaves). Also the buds were deteriating, the stickyness was gone and the bud was losing what firmness it had. I took the plants down as their condition was worsening as time went on, day by day. The buds clearly detereating. I don't have a picture as I don't have a camera.

ya they tend to do that.

LMAO.................... bwahhhahahaha..........

its ok rookie! everyone has to start somewhere . but no, the buds growing on a MJ plant do contain leafs, they are not manicured tight nugs of bud growing in weed plants.

Yea I don't think they can literally revert once budding has started can they?
I've been propagating two cuttings taken from a flowering plant 6 weeks into flower. Treat them like normal but leave the propagation light on for 24/0 no light until roots have developed and then 18/6 to save money under the HPS/HID light. Imo its better this way because you can smell what your plants will b e like when before you even stick them in your own grow room :)

Wow, you are stressing your plant when you do that, that far into the flowing cycle.
I thought that would happen, but because i only grow like 2 - 4 plants each time i only take 3 cuttings off of 2 plants and that doesn't seem to harm the flowering plants too much (or even at all)

Wow where is the expert advice here...we tarded the guy obviously is having some issues or else this thread would be titled how do buds form...I am currently experiencing the same problem, one of my systems has about 4 plants that are doing the same thing, instead of the buds that the plant started forming new leaves are coming in and replacing the white hairs that were forming, not small leaves but instead deformed fan leaves growing right out of the main cola... don't understand what's making only these few plants do this...hoping for expert advice
