you can tell it has calcium def. kus the burns on the leafes are somewhat inbetween the veins on the leaf's. magniesium def. the spots appear in large scatterd spots... thats from my experience.. Pe@ce..

it would overwater and you don't want that.. I say your best bet is to just wait until the soil is dry and then flush it again...
Yes it is also nute burn so flushing would help a bit... but your going to need epsom salts... right now just wait ...

i have a 10-15-10 with no calcium in it so you could be right... but i can't get cal/mag so what should i do in your opinion?

I also agree with the Nute Burn/PH diagnosis. Leaves that turn yellow will never go green again, so you can't use that to judge if they're getting better. Keep an eye on the new growth, if it's green, you're on the right track.
You can get little bags of dolomite lime anywhere that they have gardening supplies. I got mine at Ace hardware for like $5. I've never folliar fed with it, but I always add 2 tbsp/gallon of soil when I transfer my babies. It buffers the PH, gives them calcium, and seems to make them very happy. I powder mine before mixing in a coffee grinder. If you start using it, be sure to mix it into your soil a few days before you re-pot.
My Jack's Classic nutes lower my water PH to like the 4-5 range. It's well worth getting some PH+ & PH-. I don't trust home solutions like vinegar...

looks like most of the new growth is fine but almost every large fan leaf is damaged in some way.
is this problem going to kill my plant? and will buds still produce normally?

It won't kill it if you nip it in the bud...no pun intended. As long as you're using the premixed soil, go very lightly on extra nutes, if at all. Keep a close eye on the PH of your water and your runoff, hit it with the epsom salt & lime & you'll be rocking again. It may affect your overall yield, but it's not over yet!

While you're at it, get a real pH tester. A tester that doesn't go below 6.0 is useless for growing. And never pH anything up or down "by feel".. you have to add measured amounts of whatever "up or down" you're using, pH the result, and hone in on the exact amount to add.

it's not that i'm not serious about growing i just have limited funds and was glad i could get a proper hps for flowering... if anyone could point me in the direction of a ph pen for cheap or something then sure i'll get it but i can't really spend 50+ dollars right now.

also i was told to cut the really damaged leaves... should i still do this or will it affect the buds growth at that node? i have 4 fan leaves that are pretty damaged and looks like they could be removed.

do not trim the yellow. the plant can turn that around, dont forget though some plants drop there fans very quickly as they use the sugars and food from the leaf. your fans will be the very first to go. yellowing leafs are normal to some degree in a flowering plant. mine turned perple and shit.

Don't cut the bud leaves... i only trim a few of my fan leaves...Not meaning I entirely cut them off...

ok here are a few pics of the fans. I just cut them off near the main stem but not quite all the way down to the main stem right?
and don't touch the new shoot coming out of the node or any of those leaves
just making sure i have everything straight
those are also the 4 main affected fans... these 4 look the worse

Hey man, looks like exactly what happened to mine. I have a hydroponics reservoir system. Everything was going great until I replaced the original water with tap water which I thought was chlorine free. My plants were 3.5 weeks old. I later learned that a trace amount of chlorine is good and won't harm the plants like this. So I drained my system and replaced with bottled distilled water. Added nutes at around 30% strength. They are doing much better. The best I could tell is that some of the nutes were locked up and my plants suffered a magnesium deficiency which can look like a Nitrate deficiency. The color of your leaves look exactly the same. It only affected the fan leaves and all new growth was good to go. I ordered some Superthrive to add to the water to help promote health and vegetation. Many swear by it.

yeah i have some superthrive as well... i think i'm going to water with some ph'd water mixed with epsom salts and superthrive next time the plant needs it. it got the drench thurseday... it's now sunday and the pot still feels pretty heavy i hope root rot and all that jazz doesn't happen
but as for the issue on trimming the leaves, that's what i really want to know is if i should trim these really damaged ones off or what?

make sure when you flush you use 3-4 times the size of your pot: if you use 1 gallon pots, flush with 4 gallons of water. Otherwise you're just watering and not removing the built up salts.

If the whole fan leave looks shot and it comes off really easy with a little tug, it needs to go. If it's got burned up tips, but otherwise looks pretty good, just cut them off & leave the rest. If the leave is discolored, but still feels soft & not crispy, I'd probably leave it...That's my opinion only.
