Growing soil and waterfarm bucket system (running as single buckets, i.e. no central reservoir)
Temperature: 75 pretty much all the time
Bucket temps: 70-75
Humidity: 25 to 35
Lights: 2 1,000 watt in large Awings (1 super blue, 1 dual arc)
Ventiliation: Portable AC for incoming (390CFM), 2 4" inlines for outgoing
Room Size: 9X11X7.5
Nutrients: General Hydroponics with humic acid and 30% h202, Ph 5.8 all the time, ppm 600-800
Strains: 3 Afgoo and 3 Skunk #1
Problems: Spider Mites and other miscellaneous pests
Solutions: Neem Oil and Fox Farm Pyrethrum spray
So here is my situation:
I started flowering 4 of my plants about 9 days ago. I manually move them into an adjacent room everynight so I an leave my two mothers in veg. I had spider mites and some other pests but have sprayed neem oil and pyrethrum and it appears to be working. I will be doing this every five days or so unless someone here tells me otherwise. Moving on to the problem. Since starting flowering three of my plants appear to be getting chewed on. There are holes in the middle of the leaves as well as the edges. Some of the damaged leaves have curled as well. Looks like wilt but I am pretty sure it wouldn't be a wilting type disease. The two mothers in my other room look perfect. No problems at all and it doesn't seem to be spreading to them. I should note that I move the flowering plants into an adjacent room everynight so I can leave my other 2 in veg (they are getting quite large). These problems just started when I began flowering. I did not go into a transitional feeding schedule either so I am wondering if perhaps ph lockout could cause a plant to appear as though it is being chewed on. Does anyone have any feeding recommendations for transitioning from veg to flower? Since spraying the neem and pyrethrum it appears as though it is spreading pretty slow throughout 3 of the 4 but the other one appears to be getting worse. I have been reading every possible gardening forum and it seems like caterpillars or slugs but that would seem odd indoors. I would think I would be able to see a caterpillar or slug as I examine quite frequently with a 30X loupe. I do have some eggs on the undersides off the lower leaves but should be able to keep them in check with sprayings every few days. A few more quick questions below.
Should you shutdown your lights and mist your plants a couple of times a day?
I run all my buckets individually and just add water as they use it, about a gallon every other day. I don't mind the labor and I figure doing it this way they always have fresh water and you never have to worry about reservoir change outs. Does that make sense? Am I more prone to ph lockout doing it this way?
Would it be stupid to just get rid of this plant just in case it does start spreading to others?
Would it be overly damaging to remove all the damaged growth from the plant? Seems like my mothers rebounded back just fine when they were cloned. Wouldn't it make logical sense that cloning would be harder on a plant than slipping fan leaves?
Would it be all that terrible to toss a couple of No pest strips in for a couple of days just for good measure? I know its a much debated subject.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Perhaps I am not waiting long enough to see results from the sprays but this one plant has me a bit nervous as it would be a real tragedy to have it infect my others.
Thanks Everyone.
