Plant smell while little

Hi i barely got my first plant growing and its coming out well, thing is i dont know if when its little it should smell, its not a strong odor just wondering this, when i get like 3 inches near it is smells and when i touch the plant and smell my fingers it smells wierd. Is it suppose to smell so small?

Not till flowering unless you rub the stem. Do not rub the stem.

it will smell before flowering...right now at that size it should just smell like fresh leaves...when its about 6 inches u'll start to notice the signature smell

i don't know about the smell thing... but i noticed you have foil paper around your plant... i'm not a growth expert... but i've read countless times on this site from others saying not to use foil paper because the wrinkles in the foil will reflect the light, sending hotspots onto your plant and causing it to burn...

I have found that my veg room stinks something fierce. I have about 60 clones in there anywhere from 3" to 24". Had to get a scrubber for that room too.

i had notice that the ones that smell before flowering turn out to be males.

^interesting can anybody second that??? if so, wow good fact... i couldnt say either way...
