Plant taking less water, close to harvest.

Question.

Today is the first day I noticed my plant take less water. It has been taking about 1 to 1 1/4 gallons of water down to about 3/4 gallons of water today. I'm in the 11th week of an auto flower.

There is next to nothing on the internet that explains whether or not plants take in less water nearing the end of harvest or not. Is this normal? I haven't seen changes on the plant due to this so I'm not too concerned.

If this is normal, is this a good indicator that it is time to start the flush?

Sounds about rite. I don’t do auto flowers but have noticed this with regular garden plants on their last legs. From what I know about AF plants, that are a 1 shot deal and when they are done they are done but again, I don’t do AF.

This is normal, she's telling you she's calling it quits. This happens with all strains. Drinking slows as they mature and die. If you're going to flush then I'd start. Check trichome colors, if they are amber then the plant is/has been ready to chop.

Clear trichs = young trich
Cloudy trich = middle age trich
Amber trich = elderly trich

Most ppl chop before all the trichs become elderly, but aside from that majority consensus the ratio of clear/cloudy/amber is personal preference. Young trichs have higher energy effects, while the older trichs have more sedative effects. Harvest earlier to get more more young trichs than old, or a more energy stone, harvest later to get more old trichs than young, or a more sedative type stone. Harvest in the middle for a blend somewhere in between.

Lies. Everything is on the internet if you search hard enough. You mean you gave up looking. Ive without a doubt seen it published online somewhere in my studies. Water consumption indeed increases in the first few weeks of bloom and slows down toward the end, in photo plants at least.

The internet doesn't grow weed.

Keep doing this shit long enough. You'll notice all the little things. Little things you can only experience by growing.

The internet only explains about 25% of the information you'll learn from experience. Its just the way it is. Its the way of the Green Thumb.

The plant is massive and hard for me to get to the other side of it to fully check the trichs. For what I can see from opening the door using a scope, trichs are I'd a mix of clear and cloudy, not amber at all. As far as the pistil colors, it's 50% orange hairs and 50% white yet. Colas are falling over due to weight, that started withing the week.

Possible, I do have a heater running, but the probe is by the bucket, not the colas....

Sometimes I think it's not knowing the right keywords or phrases used to describe my issues, but for the most part I'm convinced the 80% is just stoner science.
