Plant too close to light, top it or accept bud burn?

Hi guys,

Currently got 3 wedding cake plants in the tent.

1 of the plants we almost dead when I received it from a friend and I'm surprised it's made it this far! (Day 20 since flipping to 12/12)

The plant has grown extremely leggy and has started to burn as it's getting close to the light.

The top of the leggy plant is only 8 inches away from the light, meaning the other 2 are 20 inches away now.

Am I best to top the leggy plant to bring it down to canopy height or shall I leave it as is? I'm worried that I'm putting the other 2 healthy plants at a disadvantage with the light being 20 inches away.

Anyway, a picture paints a thousand words, so here you go.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Cheers - MBS

I ran into the same situation with my grow. I super cropped my tallest branches 26 days into my flip from 12/12. They ended up my largest colas. Good luck!

Well if it were me than I'd try to tie the.tops down as much as possible without risk of breaking. In hopes to get it to the rest of the canopy level.

Cheers man, I've just super cropped them, pics added to the thread... hopefully I haven't caused any damage. These things are so bloody resilient, I'm sure they'll be fine. I've been following your grow journal, so good to hear from you! - MBS

Hi Zephyrs, thanks for your response, just super cropped so will hope for the best! - MBS

Yes supercrop those tops that are too close to the light.
Thanks man, I've just super cropped based on your advice, will hope for the best, I'm sure they'll bounce back within a couple of days! - MBS

Looks prefect, well done. Nice even canopy and those will bounce back before you know it. Let them do their thing and you'll see.
