Plant turned brown... Wtf

What did i do wrong?

Flood and drain system:
week 4 lollipopped
Flowering, everything was green, ph meter broke for about a week, so ph was running at approx 6.5
everything started turning yellow (nut deficiency).
I've been fighting mites on and off and on again. stopped spraying after plants started flowering.
week 8 friend recommend lollypopping again.
week later 3/18 plants turned brown and died.
please help

yup...........ya know that Matisyahu song........."Chop'em Down?" play that while you do the deed. super-clean everything. spray all house plants for mites. and inspect them. toss, if infested. bomb the room. they can be a recurring nightmare. go nuclear now.

but i would like to see if that is actually the definite cause to the browning. could it because of the second lollypopping?

plants like pruning......."growth follows the knife" some famous grape-grower told me that. over-pruning stunts plants, but doesn't turn them brown. solar flares was a joke.

no i dont think the lollipopping did it.

i see lots of issues from the pics,
spider mites,
pic#2 shows your grodan block with a LARGE amount of what appears to be algae and mildew/fungus.
everything turning yellow in flowering is normal. this isnt yellow tho, this is dry(?) and dead. check your pumps. did it run dry?
overferting wouldnt kill the entire plant like this. have you checked the roots? how do they look? were they anything other then white?

if i had to guess, heat, drought killed these plants. everything else gave it stress, but from the looks of it, it had to be one or the other.

check the roots. rot on the grodan block = rot on the roots = reduced root intake.

that much algae on your rockwool can become so thick that it literally creates a wall for water. Meaning your plants roots were not getting any of the required moisture to stay alive, and thus the browning/dying of the plant. That would be my guess.
Get some block covers bro, and I bet that doesn't happen again.

@nick its an ebb and flow system, watering was not the issue, this photo is 2days after removed from tray.
@cowboylogic, can you explain further please.

You talk about a first and second lollypopping(you dont lollipop in week 8 of flower). A lollipop plant is a plant trimmed to a single leader/cola, most all side branching removed(begun during veg and trimmimg completed in the first 2 weeks of flower). That plant is not a lollipop so I assume by 'popping you mean defoliating, which is never a good idea. Fan leaves are the solar panels and driving force in a plants growth.

i know guys, mites are a problem, its a constant battle, but its so late into flowering i cant spray anymore. what am i suppose to do. The thing is though, i have another tray equally covered but were not lolly popped as critically. so i figured it couldnt be the mites that lead to the death of these plants.

Looking at the pics.
Your plants were stressed to death. You can see the webs...gross! For every web you can see there are 10 you can't...at least until you break out the magnifier and start breaking open the buds. Not to mention residue bug spray, bug droppings, dead bugs, casings etc.

I'd shitcan it..I wouldn't even try to smoke it.

I doubt very much that bugs killed your plants.

It looks to me that what's most likely happened, is the plants root-zone has become diseased. The filth on top of those rock-wool blocks would make you sick if you breathed enough of it in, so the plants were never going to live through it.

It's also possible that nutrient lock-up has occurred, and we all know bugs LOVE sick, weak plants.

How often do you flood, and what are your average temperature and humidity?
