i had started growing a plant in a small pot, it was growing great it was about a-foot long growing little white hairs and already had crystals on the leaves....after about 3 or 4 months i planted it on the ground with other plants and seeds making a little garden....some died some grew but that one threw out like 4 or 5 seeds after it threw the seeds it started growing bigger...now all the plants are bushy about the same size...and my little plant lost hairs crystals and everything, growing to about 2-feet and now it looks like cheap bud...any help or suggestions on that???

ps. at the same time i grew another that i just cut it down it was about 5'5 and i planted them at the same time i cut that one down because it didnt smell and it didnt bud...

sounds to me when you put it outside, it went back to vegetive growth and stopped flowering.. i wouldn't worry too much about it though, if you let it go longer, it will start to bud again come august or so depending on what area that you live in.. it was flowering indoors probably because you introduced it to 12/12, and when it went outdoors, the longer daylight hours forced it to reveg..

Yes, re-vegged after photoperiod changed and was either pollinated by a nearby male or went hermy due to stress. Odd leaf patterns are common in photoperiod distruption.

Man, It hurts me to read that. It's only the middle of july, your outdoor plants wont start budding for a little while still, You just killed a 5 foot plant for no reason. after the summer solstice on June 21 days start getting shorter and that will eventually cause them to flower, but its not an overnight thing. late july early august is when my plants start flowering usually.
In the future you should be sure to ask us and/or research it before you act if your dealing with something you dont understand. Sorry for your loss man, that plant would of been huge and made alot of bud if it was a female. That was a costly mistake to learn from but oh well, their is always next time.

to stop it from turning hermy you need to keep it away from potential males.
i think your wrong about the males making it herm its ushally a trait that is in the plant it self either it was a seed from another hermie plant or the stress it has had along the way extreme hot an cold swings disruption in light etc alot of things could stress the plant out an cause it to herm especially if it was a femminised seed you planted or as i said a seed from another plant that hermie an this plant is carrying on the same trait

Keeping it away from males will prevent the female from being pollinated and devoting all of the plants energy towards producing viable seed. It is interesting to note that Cannabis evolved

a survival-tactic that ensures future generations. When females are isolated from males they generally produce resins (THC and other cannabinoids are a side benefit) in copius amounts

so that if there is even a small amount of pollen from a male present it will adhere to the flower and seeds will be produced. When stress factors are introduced such as drought, heat,

photoperiod interuptions (as is the case here), even mechanical injury can trigger a response by the plant to produce both male and female flowers. The result is a plant that may have

many female flowers that are perfectly fine for consumption but are typically of lower-quality since they have large amounts of seeds. These seeds are often hermaphroditic themselves.

Unusual vegetative growth is also typical as the plant is somewhat "confused" and single-leaf and/or distorted growth patterns emerge. When females are isolated and no stress factors

in play, they continue to produce the resins to a stage of extreme sexual frustration, think of a all-female prison if you will. This produces the large, resinous flowers that growers prize so

greatly. To summize, all girls + ideal growing conditions = good bud.

I dunno where you are, and even how you are doing this...but I think perhaps you need a bit more knowledge if you wanna grow on your own. I am going through my first personal grow myself, however I am fortunate enough to have been born from an outdoor, pot farming, norcal family. Up there, its common sense that gets you the good buds.

Whenever my parents grew, they were putting plants outside in May/June. The would get up to 10ft tall, and harvest was not even til October! So honestly dude...if you wanna grow outdoors, PATIENCE! You're barely half way through the season...I have a few plants I put out in May, and a few I JUST put out....the length outside is merely going to affect size. The budding come with, as several have stated, the drastic change in light. I had a friend this very year who got some clones from the same batch as me. He did an experiment with one, and started cutting its daylight, putting it in a shed, and it budded already! Thats when you get the bud my friend, time of course, but even more so, when the earth changes! Let her grow, treat her right. If she is thirsty water her, if she is hungry, feed her. Don't get all froo froo. Its a WEED after all!
