OK Let me give my setup first.
I have a Jiffy-Gro greenhouse and a Jiffy-Gro HeatPad that I purchased from my local garden supply that I been using for my seedlings.

I posted on here the other day about an issue where my seedlings where touching the top of the clear plastic dome and everyone suggested removing it and lowering the light so I did.

(The top is removed now took the pic right before I removed it)
With that box under the seedling tray (Heat pad ontop of box) some of the seedlings started burning (Mainly the sprout leaves) it looked like because I had droplets on top of the leaves. So I stoped spraying the top of the leaves and removed the box to give it more space (with the box they where 1inch from the light as per you guys suggestion without they where about 2.5inches)

Well last night as per your suggestion again I transplanted some of the tall suckers into larger pots with foxfarm and perlite mix(Don't have pics yet) and planted them so only an inch was sticking out of the soil. I made sure the light was about 2.5 inchs away from them and some of them burned last night again (I checked it about 3 hours after I transplanted and put back under the lights, so they burned within those 3 hrs) (Again mainly the sprout leaves not many of the real leaves). I didnt have any water on the top of the leaves... What is my problem? I took a ph level of my water its at 6.5 and ph of the soil seems to be between 6.5 and 7
I havent started neuits yet because they are on their way in the mail as I am typing this. Anyone have suggestions? Is my light too close?
Some of my better looking plants got burned and its pissing me off ;(

Also the ones that burned will they survive or is not even worth keeping them? Some arnt bad, when they burned the first time both leaves on 1 burned so I believe that suckers completly dead.

Any info would be apprecated
Thanks,
Memaw

Your burnt plants will probably survive id be worried about hermies from stress if it keeps up though. move your lights so you can have your hand at the level of the sprouts leaves and have it not cause you discomfort. I use CFL's and I can full on grab the bulb after 16 hours of operation.

My hand doesnt feel any discomfort by having it at sprout hight. Thats the weird part, my light is the same way it doesnt get hot at all.
If you see on the first pic what I did was since I only transplanted the left half of the tray I moved that side up to the 2nd level and left the right side for the guys still in jiffypots down at the bottom level.
Hopefully that wont be too high for the new transplanted guys.
Il try to get pics here today.

Thanks,

Very strange indeed. Maybe your humidity is off. I believe burning can also be caused by your plants drying out. Can anyone confirm?

Suggest easy ways to put more humidity into the closet?
Also what should I have the humidity set at at this point?
The transplanted half are a week and 3 days old, then nontransplanted half are less then a week old..

I don't want my clothes getting all moldy from a humidifier in there.
They are moving next week into my permanate grow room in my attic, its not done yet though so I cant move them yet..

I know im bad, but I havent gotten an intake/exhaust yet because I cant seem to figure out howto do it for the closet. Again I am moving the setup in a week, which will have nice dayton intake and exhaust fans setup so I figured I could wait. Could that be my issue also?

if you keep it around 50% youll be fine :P there are optimal humidities but they are more of a guideline. Too dry = dry plants Too wet = mold.

OK well maybe il just go get one of those digital humidfiers...
Honeywell
QuietCare Cool Moisture Humidifier
Model HCM-650

That would work right?

leafwrapper suggestions so they wont burn the leaves? Everyone says 1inch from the plants but my only idea is to fix the problem would be to move the lights up so they are higher...
Memaw

id say 4-6" away for now. lower them so there around 3-4" from plant after first 2 weeks of growth to prevent them from strecthing. after a week or so see how they are doing and put the light 2" from plant. ur good from there on out.
