Plants cant grow without roots, right?

I have some clones that have been in the dome for about 10 days. I took one yesterday and put it in potted soil. I did not see any roots coming out of the bottom but when I put it in the pot it started to grow.

THAT MEANS WE MUST HAVE ROOTS RIGHT?

Where in the hell am I?

Yes, that means that it must have roots. Most people give the plant enough time for the roots to grow through just enough to see before planting. But yes, if it is growing, you do have roots.

Do you think it is a problem that I planted it before I saw roots pop from the rockwool, or no as long as it is growing?

some people wait for them to show through the rockwool and some dont, as long as there are roots youll be fine.

just keep it going. but i next time i would wait until i know it has some good roots going before trans planting it into something.

This is what most growers do with new clones! It's sort of like starting your outboard motor, before, you launch the boat - just to make sure everything is going to be OK. It's really just a way to avoid extra work or expense by eliminating any cuttings that might not make it. It's probably the most senseable and popular approach!

But after you get some mad skills and your clone rate is around 100% - you might change your mind!

You can tug on a cutting (lightly, very lightly) after the 10 day mark and tell if it has roots if it doesn't just slide out of the rockwool or just pick up the wet clone by the stem (again carefully) and if the heavy cube doesn't just slide off...

Then you'll know it's ok to plant for sure, but that's only something to consider really if you're in that much of a rush you can't wait to just see them poke out on their own before planting.

I took 8 clones, and waited, & waited, was looking for roots after the 4th day, but still didn't have any. It took 12 days for them to have roots, i considered them trash after 10 days but i kept misting, an after the 12 day they all had roots. Long story short, don't give up on them just do whats proper for clones.

Great advice. One thing that I noticed about some of the clones I took last night is that they are drooping a little. I followed every procedure. Do you think that it is becuase they were to tall in height or had to many leaves. I am attaching a picture of them.

I don't know if I'd say perfect, looks like there's too much growth on there to me. Need to trim some of those fan leaves up.

Those are perfect clones. If that's droopyness I hope everyone has that problem.
Should there just be the top node with a few leaves around it or shoudl I have some fan leaves on, I have a feeling that because of the fan leaves they are being weighed down, any suggestions. And it shouldnt be a probelm trimming if they are alreayd in the dome right?

These pictures were taken before they were put under the dome

How much green to leave is somewhat a matter of personal opinion. More leaf means yea it can wilt easier and needs more foliar spraying or use wilt spray, but they'll take off faster with more leaf to provide the power to grow up.

Less leaf means less spraying, might even not need a dome at all, but slower growth after rooting to really get up to speed.

I don't think either plays a real role in how fast the rooting itself happens, only how fast more vegetation comes after rooting.

If you think you have too much or want to spray less or whatever you can either take a leaf off or trim leaf tips off or leaves in half.

Maybe play with half one way and half the other.

You are using a dome for the first 5 days right? I don't think too much trimming is needed when using a dome, but with the right trimming many can clone with no dome at all even cloning under HID's as amazing as that is.

I mean I was trying to keep the clones in there for a month till I want to flower. I dont know if that is going to work. Some of them seem a little droopy and it is the ones that have more leaves on them.

Is there a special spray you can buy, and is foiler feeding just spraying it with regular or water or should I add one of the fox farm nutrients I have?

Also one of my friend was telling me to leave some water in the bottom with nutrients and every few days replace it when it evaporates,

Your thoughts?
