plants drooping under new lights

to your original question; yes light spectrums(especially floros to HID at the wrong time...there is a right time or way to do it) can make plants droop for a few days or so. Root bound plants also do that even worse... They're already shocked technically, then transplant does it again. Just give them the few days to recover, they will be fine. Much more resilient then most people make these wonder plants out to be. Sure ideal conditions exist but just keep at it. Listen to your plants; you already know what's happening.

Ya maat I didnt have much faith in my last idea either lol.

And beepo I would have say over water is very unlikely since I only water when the pot feels so light it almost seems nothings in it. Ussually about 4 days apart id say.

So I was gone for three days or so and these plants look fine now (back under the blues while I was gone).
I did put a.vegging plant in there before I left so when my lights come on I'll post back on how its doing.

I know this is a very old thread but I'm experiencing the same issues. I switched the plants to flower and in the process I swapped alot of the 5000k leds to some 3000k leds thinking "they're in flower now so they'll need more red spectrum" but after leaving them under the new bulbs all day, i come home and all of them are drooping really bad. They're not over watered, they might be just a tad rootbound but im talking like barely. Temps are the same as they've always been (around 70-80F) humidity is around the same, if not a little lower, plants are not getting too hot from the lights. My only assumption is that I shocked them when I swapped ALL of the 5000k leds out for the 3000k leds in one go. Maybe I should try to slowly swap them over a period of a week or something? To help them transition easier?

I had a similar issue with my 480 watt quantum boards. I cranked it up just before flower and plants drooped like crazy, ended up turning it down to 60% and they bounced back. What height is your light at? Maybe try dimming it and see if it makes a difference

Yeah I think it was a mix of them being pretty thirsty along with the abrupt change in the spectrum. I put some of the original 5000k bulbs in and left a couple 3000k bulbs to try and give them an easier transition. They were nice and perky this morning

im seeing the led droop too.....
I cannot wrap my head around why these leds are so much different. Im thinking ppf numbers are just a quarter of what all is really going on here.

i didnt even switch from hps yet, i switched from 5k to 4k .....from junk corn cob style led bulbs to good LM561C's and already seeing the droop. Only been about a week. i highly suspect vpd as the problem and that is another thing us ol hps guys never worried about. The switch is insane.

That's one thing that bothers me about LED's. It seems like you never really know what you're getting until you actually try it out

i have to say thats 100% true if going from any other lighting. Its just not the same.
With the grow i have going on right now, which is also my first grow ever lol I tried not to spend a great deal of money because I knew there would be mistakes. And mistakes there were. So as far as lights I've been using Great Value brand household LED bulbs (5000k and 3000k 13.5w/100w equiv.) and some of the Great Value blurple LED "grow light" bulbs. 3 gallon pots. 4 plants. And honestly im surprised with how they turned out. I LST'd two of them, topped one and did some slight LST, and for the fourth one.. im not real sure what I have going on with it. I topped it, then broke off one of the tops that grew out so that put it back to one main top, then i topped it again which put it back at two main tops lol so instead of what 8? I only have 2 even though it was topped twice so really it looks like there was never any training done to it to begin with. But they're all going pretty good, 6-7 weeks of veg. Im sure with better soil, nutes and better lights they would be much bigger and healthier but this was mainly a learning experience

Here is a picture of all of them taken today. There has been several ups and downs but these plants really are resilient
your proving to whoever dont believe and yourself , that you can use about any light source to grow weed. It appears your giving her plenty of light for now , they are healthy. Going into flower is different. it really makes a huge difference in the power of the light source.

When I first started the grow, when they were only seedlings, I knew nothing about PAR, PPF or PPFD. I thought you only needed lights that had the color spectrum or whatever listed on the box so I went to Walmart and started looking at all the 5000k and 3000k led bulbs and was so stoked lmao "man look at all these lights I can use to grow".. but yeah I'm somewhat skeptical still about their flowering cycle because I just flipped them yesterday and through the entire grow I've been wondering how well those bulbs will actually do. They're not all that bad for veg but now it's getting down to the nitty gritty *nacho Libre voice*

it can work with those kind of lights but your going to need a LOT of them to produce nice dense flowers. Almost every single light you seen with a kelvin of 3k or 5k or whatever .....can be used for growing and is GREAT for houseplants. So yes, you were kinda right , they all are grow lights but they cant all produce the intensity you need to make nice flowers.

In your opinion, how many would I need? I have 11 lights total. 1 blurple 2ft 20w "grow light" fixture, one 2ft 12w grow light led strip thing (not quite a "fixture", more like a long single tube bulb but it's led's), three 8w/50-65w equiv. blurple grow light bulbs, two 9w/60w equiv. grow light bulbs (but these produce more of a reddish pink color), and four of the regular household led's, a mix of the 3k and 5k. All of the actual individual bulbs are used with the clamp light reflectors
Here is an example of my setup lol things have been moved around SLIGHTLY to make room for the 2ft fixture but everything is still pretty much the same and all being used

i cant tell which ones are doing what but them strips are prolly the best bet. if nothing else , cram 10 more regular 3k light bulbs in there......20 wouldnt hurt. it appears nice and bright to the eyeball but its not very bright to the girls. It IS doable though. you'll do way better then most think but not as good as you'd like......

Wow wow wow lol that's alot of lights. And I told my wife "no this is it I don't need to buy anymore lights" lolol boy is she in for a surprise. Im probably gonna try to get one or two more of those fixtures. I saw alot of positive results after I put that thing in there. The blurple grow bulbs come with info on the side of the box but, who knows if Walmart is actually being honest with their info and im still not really savvy in being able to interpret what all of it means
The picture of the box is one of the bulbs. The screenshot is the info for the blurple light fixture. Maybe you can tell me just how good these lights really are
